Thread 2 probably a good idea for the coming second landfall... the ICON model is back at it: landfall near Oak Island, NC around dawn on Thursday morning as a strong Cat 2 hurricane.
Euro model is slower and weaker (Cat 1), landfalling close to Myrtle Beach at noon on Thursday. The GFS model is clueless.
Am watching a railroad webcam in Waycross Ga. The webcam is positioned near CSX’s Rice Yard.
Trains are still moving some (albeit slowly) but the rain is torrential and the wind is heavy.
It’s not overly exciting but if you go to youtube.com and type in Waycross Railcam, you can see what’s going on.
As always, a great job NN!
Thanks for putting this thread together.
You all in LA and TX, keep an eye on the other storm out there. It is forecasted to go over the Yucatan and get into the Gulf probably by this weekend.

I just saw some coverage from Sarasota County on WFLA’s YouTube channel.
The reporter stated that some of the homeowners there didn’t have flood insurance because they didn’t live in a flood zone?!
What the heck.
How do people in FL get mortgages without flood insurance?
And if you don’t live in an area that allows you to get subsidized coverage, why in heck wouldn’t you purchase your own?
The homes I saw were very close to waterways, were very nice homes.
That’s a heck of an investment.
How the heck do you not insure it?!
BTW, how some of those developments got permission to build where and hiw they did is beyond me.
Wowza.
