In my opinion we have this incredible model variation because of the proximity of the two high pressure areas trapping the hurricane from steering forces that almost always what these models build off of in their predictions. Until the resolution of the conjoined highs this sucker is going to break dance in south GA giving everything from central FL to the NC line storm band training floods.

As Debby devolves into a pokey-cane, there will be adequate time to anticipate additional preparations. Unfortunately, Debby’s reach is vast. Thus, preparations will likely occur in the rain.

I’m up on the Albemarle Sound and they keep uping the impact for this area. I think the block won’t resolve until tomorrow night.

Fruitville Rd. is a major East-West thoroughfare from I-95 to the Sarasota waterfront.
SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A shelter-in-place advisory has been issued in Sarasota County, a county official confirmed to News Channel 8.

The advisory is in effect for the entire county.

“Sarasota received an estimated 9.52″ of rain on Sunday, marking an all-time record for daily rainfall in August, shattering the old record of 8.12″ set on August 26, 2017."

Police said Fruitville Road is closed due to increased flooding and advised residents to stay off the roads.

Beautiful area. I imagine there are still people around there who will never forget 1999 with Hurricane Dennis, followed by Hurricane Floyd.

Here is the ridge of five Highs blocking off Debby currently. Next post I will shown the next five progressions of Lows coming in and letting Debby move north.

Did I see that the surge @ Cedar Key was about 4 to 5 ft? If so, that is much better than the 6’ to 10’ forecast. Should be minimal damage then. I hope so - that’s a neat place to visit, along with clams to die for!

A few years back, my niece’s 1/4 mi driveway to her house was waist deep for her husband to walk through. They had just built their dream house when 2017 hurricanes hit, one after the other. Her backyard was a full on lake. It was such a disaster. Months passed before they could move back in. Lake Wales area.

Crazy flooding up and down the Central FL Gulf coast. Those eternal squalls have been insufferable. The stories of residential water rescues are plentiful. Hoping you and the First Lady are staying cool and dry.
