SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A shelter-in-place advisory has been issued in Sarasota County, a county official confirmed to News Channel 8.The advisory is in effect for the entire county.
“Sarasota received an estimated 9.52″ of rain on Sunday, marking an all-time record for daily rainfall in August, shattering the old record of 8.12″ set on August 26, 2017."
Police said Fruitville Road is closed due to increased flooding and advised residents to stay off the roads.
