JonPreston: "DJT would be very wise to reject this GOPe nonsense about reducing corporate tax rates and instead concentrate on ridding America of the cancerous rot and corruption that has infested both political parties."

Tax cuts are almost always a good idea, since they stimulate the economy and so generate more tax revenues.
But "tax cuts for the rich" is the Democrats' often effective response to any conservative Republican proposals.

I think that's why DJT concentrates on eliminating taxes on tips and social security, since those are clearly not aimed at "the rich".

The WSJ's opposition to Trump's tax cut plan is not necessarily a bad thing for Trump politically.

What will actually happen in Congress in 2025, regarding taxes or corruption, is anybody's guess today.

The author is juxtaposing a concrete proposal, eliminating one or more categories of taxation, with a nebulous, and ultimately unobtainable, goal of “eliminating corruption.” Ideas that might have been uttered during a McCain or Romney campaign. If Trump were to follow his advice, he would go down in flames like they did.

Exactly. Trump’s playing chess while the MSM is playing checkers.

When Democrats talk about social security, the LAAP-dog media frames it as poor little old ladies who desperately wait for their monthly checks to live on.

When Republicans talk about social security, the LAAP-dog media frames it as rich retirees who don't need the benefit and should be means-tested before receiving it.
