Sounds like someone might make a lot of money running guns to those in need. Lots of coastline on a large island. The Irish did it in their uprising over a hundred years ago....let’s hope it doesn’t get to that.

Somebody will make a mistake and the population will find itself armed. That’s what happened in Romania, during Ceausescu. The revolution wasn’t going anywhere until somebody acquired access to military arms and then populations had their guns to do the job they needed to do.
The population was disarmed decades ago and the police were armed after a long history of Bobbies not carrying firearms. Don’t think Britain is close to civil war yet, but a lot depends on the government response. Brits are slow to anger and slow to forgive so once you get them riled up you need to be careful. It will be hard to revolt as the country class divide is like ours. The middle and upper middle class despises the working class and will support harsh measures. Same thing in Canada. These are societies that value order more than liberty.
