Will Proxy Wars in Yemen and Lebanon Ignite a Full-Scale Regional Confrontation? On Saturday, a rocket struck a soccer field in the Druze town of Majdal Shams, about 12 kilometers south of Lebanon and near the Syrian border, where dozens of children and teens were playing. Twelve people were killed and 20 others were wounded, according to the Israeli military. Local residents informed Israeli media that an 11-year-old child was missing.
The Israeli military spokesperson confirmed the attack, stating that a Falagh-1 missile, manufactured by Iran and equipped with a 53-kilogram explosive warhead, was fired at the location. While Hezbollah denied responsibility, U.S. intelligence sources and the Israeli army emphasized that Hezbollah was behind the strike.

Khamenei's primary aim is to ensure his regime's survival and prevent internal uprisings, rather than fighting Israel. Another goal is to thwart the achievement of strategic peace between regional countries, which could threaten his regime's security.
