A ‘democracy’ is not a Constitutional Repblic, like we have here.

Unfortunately, it’s tough to keep a Constitutional Republic when just over 50% of the country believes we should be a Democracy (and takes continuous steps to lead us that way).
About ten rich donors, probably all white men, overruled the democratic choice of 14 million voters, mainly women and people of color, to deny Joe Biden, who gave a State of the Union address fairly recently, his justly earned political reward.
What justifies other leading Democrats to talk about ‘ethics’ given such a travesty?

The Supreme Court will quickly and correctly rule it unconstitutional.
It takes an amendment to change the Constitution. No president can get rid of the Electoral College, for example.

I completely agree with term limits, for congresscritters, with some sort of additional benefit for prior honorable service in the US military.
Maybe the Supreme Court made a mistake with Citizens United.
Maybe you’ll have less campaign wampum going forward.
Dems win a court battle = all hail the all mighty wise courts. How dare you question the all mighty court.
Dems lose a court battle = it’s the end of democracy. Courts are evil and need to be controlled and forced to bend to our will.

The problem is their terms are too short.
Their terms need to be made four years long (and offset two years from that of the President to ensure a more stable government).
They spend too much time and effort running for office and not enough time and effort managing public money well.
People don’t normally object to a teacher spending 40 years teaching in public schools. Running government is a more complex task than teaching third graders.
You would think that this unqualified faux-DEI hire posing as a law professor would understand that the role of the Supreme Court is to act as a balance against the excesses of the other two branches. If the other two branches get too aggressive in their actions, they will get shut down by the Supreme Court, that's how the system works. Childishly, tinkering with the Supreme Court because you didn't get your way is not wise.
