Republican allies of former President Trump expect him to draw heavily from the Senate GOP conference to fill his Cabinet if he is elected to a second term in November, with Sens. Bill Hagerty (Tenn.), Tom Cotton (Ark.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Tommy Tuberville (Ala.) in contention for top-level jobs.
Republicans feel confident about Trump’s chances against Vice President Harris in November and are buzzing about who could lead the departments of Treasury, Defense, State and Education if Trump wins.
GOP lawmakers expect Trump, if elected, to push big reforms to overhaul the federal bureaucracy, and they believe that senators are well positioned to manage Washington’s sprawling departments and agencies to make changes and produce results.

I trust The Hill. Whatever they say is bound to be...um...something. Never mind, I don’t believe a word they say.
Dems expected to draw heavily from Dems to count Votes
Fixed it.
That occurred to me, too. Anyone Trump appoints to head the DOE should be prepared to be unemployed soon. Didn't Trump propose to eliminate it?
It's not just the DOE, either --- I'm hoping for massive cuts in Federal beaurocracy across the board. Nearly all Dept's should face cuts. I'm not arguing against cuts - I approve - but anyone Trump appoints should be prepared to downsize. That runs against normal expectations in the swamp.
DOE, Environment, Energy should get hit the worst. Who else?
That job description would fit Dr. Ben Carson for sure.
that would be stupid, if he got control of senate to risk giving it up
There are plenty of good Republicans without reducing their number in the Senate.
Ken Paxton for AG
Other non Senate names to think about. Some are silly
Kay Ivey
Tucker Carlson
Greg Abbott
Steve Bannon
Tulsi Gabbard
RFK Jr.
Mike Flynn
Hulk Hogan (ambassador to UN)
Alex Jones (communication director)
Abolish all extra Constitutional agencies and leave the post vacant
yep
he would be better drawing from Free Republic
First things first!
Let’s win this election and then we can talk of the transition!
If the Republicans were to gain a majority in the Senate, removing that (likely slim) majority would not be wise.
“Republicans feel confident about Trump’s chances against Vice President Harris in November”
RFK Jr.’s current 5% to 7% of likely voters are probably going to the Democrat come election time.
Cotton and Rubio are NeoCon lunatic scum.
If true, Trump won’t be draining the swamp, if he wins.
Pick all democrats... then fire them
The Hill…laughable source for anything Trump.
1) Senators are replaced by the governor.
2) They are, every single one, Swamp.
3) Vance is only 1-2 yrs in DC and thus not Swamp.
4) Optimally, bring in people from business who have zero Washington connections and start the attack. First step: No more daily press briefings. That will put literally 100s of Swamp filth out of work.
Let’s not count our chickens before they hatch, we have to win first, anything else is a distraction
Agree.
No - have Rubio run for governor of Florida after DeSantis is done. He can finish his stint in public service in that capacity.
In any event, let’s make sure there will even be a Trump cabinet first.
Yes.
Not a good idea and I seriously doubt Trump will do it.
