Should JD Vance be in trouble for comments in 2021 about ‘childless cat ladies’?

Jennifer Aniston, who’s been open about her fertility struggles, is ripping Republican vice presidential nominee JD Vance for the Ohio senator’s previous remarks dubbing Vice President Harris one of several “childless cat ladies” in Washington.

In her social media post, Aniston shared a message with her nearly 45 million Instagram followers directed at Vance: “I pray that your daughter is fortunate enough to bear children of her own one day. I hope she will not need to turn to [in vitro fertilization] as a second option.”

“Because you are trying to take that away from her, too,” Aniston, 55, said.

In a 2022 interview, the Emmy Award winner said she tried to get pregnant for several years and underwent unsuccessful rounds of in vitro fertilization.

What The Hill doesn’t mention, but Aniston admits in an Allure article, is that her IVF attempts were in her late 30s and early 40s. At that stage, most women have already zoomed past peak and even less peak fertility and are into the stage where they’re saying, “I hope that having spent my childbearing years chasing a career, science can step in and give me a baby.”

“Leftist women are getting their knickers in a twist ...”

Must be a day that ends with a “y.”

So it was a Hail Mary pass.

If you are so emotional that you can’t discern what he really meant, you shouldn’t be allowed to vote.

Which is worse Aniston. A cat lady comment or an assassins bullet? Which party do you associate with? Yeah, thought so. Cat lady.

I don’t see Vance attacking all women who are childless.

I see Vance attacking political leaders who have chosen to have no obvious stake in the future.

I think he is exactly right and should stand behind what he said. Why let them define the issue?

Aniston chased a career. She got it. She needs to quit bitching.

Jennifer Aniston should stick to movies. And i might add, please keep your clothes on.

I don’t care about their stupid “feelings” Anniston would think nothing of one of her friends aborting their child.

I only care about getting rid of the evil that is running this country. Single issue crybabymania will get us a permanent tyrannical state.

While the comment should not be a big deal, Vance made a rookie mistake with a comment like that he should know would be brought up against him and the GOP. Having said that, Libs make horribly negative comments about women who have 3+ kids and focus on their families rather than a career (e.g., “your vagina isn’t a clown car” type stuff).

This is about refusing to bring a child into the world, not the ability. They are attacking a strawman.

If you do not have enough faith in America to bring a child into the world then what gives you the right to lead the nation.

We’re no longer a republic.

If that still matters to anyone, then I gently suggest that this question is moot.

Obviously, the pool of females Vance was referring to is small and are childless by choice.

To be fair: Of course the IVF treatments are needed chiefly by women in their fifth decade: That's the whole (sick) point!

There are, of course, a handful of women in their 20s who might need IVF - but most are oldsters who have squandered their naturally fertile years chasing "Chad" and/or their careers, and who are hence now paying the price.
