BERLIN (AP) – Climate activists glued themselves to the ground at Cologne-Bonn Airport in western Germany on Wednesday, forcing officials to suspend flights for a few hours, authorities said.
Police said five people glued themselves to a taxiway at the airport early in the morning, German news agency dpa reported. Flights were suspended for about three hours from about 5:45 a.m. while officers worked to remove the protesters.
The airport said that 31 flights were canceled and six had to be diverted.

Gasoline dissolves super glue — kinda like acetone. Just dump a gallon on each and tell them to work themselves free. Whilst doing this point out to them the guy waaaay off to the side with a box of flares. He is gonna practice.

Essentially divert (if at all possible). Post a police officer. Remove all news cameras. NO media.
And just let them sit. Once they get hungry, or bored. and start peeing an pooping themselves. without the attention They will suddenly want to be freed..
At some point, peel them off the pavement, prosecute AND jail them.
And fine their organization for everything, diverted cars, Police details, etc and penalties.
Next time, glue your selves to a high speed rail track or the Autobahn

Release dogs on them and you’ll see how fast they can unglue themselves.
What I wanna know is what kind of glue are they using? Does nobody patrol runways anymore? What kind of glue hardens up so quickly that you’re able to glue yourself to a runway without being accosted by law-enforcement first?
Has anyone thought of surrounding them with obvious red cones and just leaving them there with no glue remover? Drive the planes right around them. BIG NOISY planes.
Turn them into runway pizzas.
Messy, but effective. It would end the glue protests. As for the paint splatterers, rubber bullets and mandatory clean up.
I keep trying to tell FReepers that hornets are an under utilized crowd control tool. Drop a few hornet nests by the protestors and they’ll “unglue” themselves.

In fact, if everyone on the airplanes whose plans were disrupted and who incurred extra expense or lost opportunity as a result of the illegal protest were to sue the demonstrations to recoup those losses, that would hit the protesters where they live!
Move them to a restricted access out-of-the-way location and glue them back down.

I know Germany has snowplows to clear the runways.
