“That debate was a set-up to convince Democrats that he couldn’t run for president,” a source close to the Biden family told The Post Monday.
Joe Biden was forced to leave the presidential race after high-level Democrats threatened him with the 25th Amendment.
Operatives at the very highest levels of the Democratic Party threatened Joe Biden with forcibly removing him from office unless he stepped down, sources told The Post.
The well-orchestrated “palace coup” to stop the faltering president seeking re-election has been in place for weeks, but stubborn Biden fought against it every step of the way, according to the sources.
Part of the “elaborate” strategy to remove Biden from the race – as he announced in a shock letter posted on X Sunday – was allowing him to debate Republican candidate Donald Trump last month on live TV in Atlanta.
During the car crash 90-minute debate, Biden appeared confused, slack-jawed and at one point he froze up, with his shocking performance turning the tide against him.
Biden is said to have stubbornly fought against the recent calls for him to step down until his shock announcement on Sunday that he will not seek re-election
Although Biden immediately endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for president, the source said Democratic delegates will be strongly encouraged to instead back Arizona senator and former astronaut Mark Kelly for president at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago in August.

Why would the DNC have to rig the primaries? He was an incumbent and as far as I know he had no serious challenger. Core. Democratic voters didn’t seem to want to change.
Wouldn’t rule out sabotage. Democrats will do ANYTHING to win, including, obviously, trying to kill Trump. Stabbing Joe in the back, throwing him under the bus, and, dare I say it, sabotaging Joe’s medications, would not surprise me. They knew all along that he was demented, but as long as they thought he could beat Trump, they were fine. But his dementia was getting harder and harder to overlook. That failed assassination attempt tore it; they HAD to push Joe out, now. I doubt they’ll let Harris run; she’s even weaker than Joe. I truly hope Pelosi repents before she dies, because she is responsible for so much evil.

The Dems have known for a long time that Biden was mentally f*cked up..so did they think they could hide it..eventually it would appear..and the debate originally if Trump had not said “Anyone anyplace” would have probably been in September, so way past both primaries, so the Dems would have been stuck with Biden unless he dropped dead

Doesn’t make sense. If Joe is their best bet, why knock him out of the race when their assassination plot fails? Makes no sense.
BTW, they actually lied about the balloon. It was supposed to be filled by Helium and be completely safe!

Because they knew he couldn’t win, and that’s all they care about. His dementia has been accelerating. Too hard to fool anyone anymore.
I suspect we’re seeing spin from the Biden camp. I don’t think the Democrats wanted Joe to debate Trump. That was all on Joe for publicly challenging Trump to a debate. I think their puppet went rogue and they were forced to deal with it. Once Trump agreed to debate Biden they may have adopted the strategy of removing him if he had had a major fail at the debate, which he did.
If Joe had never debated Trump, I think they would have stuck with him. That’s my take, anyway. Maybe some day we’ll know for sure.

Makes PERFECT SENSE to me. Imagine trying to get rid of him WITHOUT the debate, or even worse, the first debate in September.
It was OBVIOUSLY a setup and the only thing that surprised me is that Trump took the bait.
