I think it would be worse for Harris to have to assume the duties of the Presidency and campaign at the same time. She doesn't multi-task well and won't be able to focus on the campaign alone. In fact, she will do neither well, which should be an advantage for President Trump.

And then when things don't go well, she gets mean and takes it out on her staff. She can't keep a cohesive team together for any length of time.

If Biden passes and Harris has to step into the Presidency AND campaign for her own election, she will fail at both. It would be the perfect excuse for the party elites to tell Harris to focus on completing Biden's term while they choose someone else to run for 2024.
