Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Calif.) will not seek his party's nomination for president. Another potential rival to Harris, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D-Mich.), endorsed Harris on Sunday. Both Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-N.Y.) and Gov. Phil Murphy (D-N.J.) threw their support behind Harris. Former Democrat (but still senator) Joe Manchin (I-W.Va.) briefly considered making a run but dropped that hot potato almost instantly.
“ When President Biden picked Kamala Harris to be his Vice President he unleashed incredible excitement for a new generation of political leadership," Hochul said in a statement. "That same energy will carry us to November 5 with Vice President Harris leading our ticket."
“I’m very enthusiastic about Kamala Harris,” Newsom said during a Sunday interview with MSNBC’s Chris Hayes. "I think the American people could not do better."
There's a thought to keep you awake at night.
Vice President Kamala Harris, barring yet another Black Swan Event in the next four weeks, looks like she's going to sail smooth(ish) seas to her party's nomination. The Cabal didn't even need a smoke-filled room. Congresscritter Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) reportedly made her will be known, Presidentish Joe Biden caved, and everybody else seems to be falling into line behind Harris.

Nobody wants to run against Trump. He has a couple of weaknesses, his relatively high disapproval rating being one of them. But if he were truly weak, power-hungry sharks like Newsom and Whitmer would be gathering in the bloody waters to finish off Harris before trying to make a meal out of Trump.
But Trump can serve only one term. The sharks have four years to let the chaos in their party die down, build up their organizations, and make a real run for the White House in 2028. Assuming, of course, that Harris loses.
Privately, Hochul, Newsom, et al. must be fuming. If Biden had dropped out last summer, as the semi-invalid should have, there could have been a real primary. Instead, the Cabal rigged the game for Biden, and now they’re stuck with Harris.
The real truth is they have no choice.
The “Trump is a felon” failed.
The shooting only made things worse for them.
Much of America is waking up to the fact they have been lied to since ‘93.
Nobody wants to replace DEI Harris. That is the real issue. Especially white and especially male.
Dictatorial. Chaotic. Hitler like. Muh Our Democracy. Existential threat to democracy. Elites. Back room deals. Donors. And everyone who endorsed her. Stood up for Biden. Stabbed him in the back. They will do the same to Kamala.
Make her answer if this SS DEI hire should resign or be fired? Make Kamala answer the question. Would you fire her? Members of your party want her to resign. Do you agree?

Harris is the sacrificial lamb—that and after she looses, her political career is over—paving the way for the others to run in 2028.
But having Harris at teh top of the ticket means that the bottom of the ticket will do marginally better than with Joe running—and that means that enough cheating can be done to retain one or both houses of congress and that is the current play/plan.
I think the October Surprise will be Biden’s removal via resignation or 25A (he’s a sick man, but I think he’ll still be alive next January). Kamala will run as the sitting president. Trump is aiming for #48, not #47.
If they actually do stay with harris that tells me they have thrown in the towel and resigned to a Trump win.
The Dem party bosses will let her fall on the sword; she was always expendable anyway.

Biden might be dead already, he hasn’t appeared after resigning via Twitter.
Biden is or will be dead, or will resign from office installing Kamala as the president so she gets some presidential experience under her belt and will be an incumbent.
Vance will be president before Harris.

Yeah...I wondered about this. It’s one thing to get a vegetable out of the race but it’s another to find a really qualified candidate that is willing to take on Trump.
I think the other potentials are glad Kamala is being pushed forward, they know she’ll lose but at least it won’t be them. They’ll be looking beyond this race.
I think Manchin summed it up when he said why woudl he put himself through this. No same person would. Its a clown show and will not end well for anyone involved, even if they win, it will be a perpetual nightmare and will effect their political future.
Yep . By using a man made virus to steal an election they placed themselves in a position where they dare not lose their grasp on power. Who knows what they had to trade with China for its part of the deal?
The decision to dump Harris will come after polling shows she can't beat Trump. And how will the DNC cover for that betrayal?
