In the end, President Joe Biden exited the political stage in isolation.
After weeks of fighting for his political life – insisting he wasn’t going anywhere following a disastrous debate performance – the president’s about-face did not come in an Oval Office address or a speech on the campaign trail. Instead, it came in letter posted to social media as he recovered from Covid-19 at his beach house in Delaware.
It was a low-key way to reveal one of the most historic decisions in modern American politics, but time was not on Biden’s side to reach a decision or make an announcement. Never before has a president left a reelection race this close to Election Day – and for 24 days it seemed as if he were stubbornly planning to ride out the storm that followed the June 27 CNN debate in Atlanta.
He spent the three weeks after the debate repeating that he was staying in the race against former President Donald Trump. The president dug in. He insisted he could beat Trump. His inner circle shrank to his closest aides and family. He was forced to retreat to Delaware, where he reached a decision in the last day-and-a-half, finally conceding that a man loyal to the Democratic Party for more than a half-century was seen as a drag on the ticket.

Barack Obama is not eligible to be VP (thank goodness). From the 12th Amendment:

Funny you should say that. I’ve had this nagging feeling since yesterday that we’ll never hear Joe Biden speak in public again. Not necessarily because he is deceased or soon will be.
Just a feeling that he won’t fully recover from his “covid.” Or couldn’t recover politically from the assassination attempt on Trump ... what with so many strange anomalies coming out of that event.
But if he really did catch the Wuhan Flu again it could have wreaked havoc on what’s left of his brain and his ability to speak. He was barely functional prior.
I find it highly suspicious that this was put out on social media and Biden’s campaign staff knew nothing about it. In fact, eight minutes after it was posted, they put out a campaign fundraising request for Biden-Harris. Who actually authorized this? I think Biden knew nothing about it. It was forced out because the handlers in the DNC and White House had run out of patience with Joe’s recalcitrance. Time was running out to get rid of him so they had to make their move.
He’ll probably suit up tomorrow to go campaigning only to discover he’s no longer a candidate. I can imagine the rages that will erupt in the White House. Lately, Joe has been more and more belligerent when people confront him about his mental deterioration. He won’t go quietly.
Yeah, we’re about to be inundated with media reports that Biden was the greatest president America has ever seen - he brought peace, prosperity, economic security the likes the world has never seen before (this was promised to get him out). He’ll have the most lavish presidential library ever built...
It’s going to be insufferable between six months of slavering praise for Biden and insufferable admiration for Kamala Harris - the most qualified candidate that ever walked, she’ll bring peace, prosperity and...

They knew he would fall apart at the debate. That’s why they programmed it so early before the conventions. They needed time to bring in somebody else and hopefully have enough time before the elections to push Kamala through. Joe will still want his 10 percent of the election money. The one surprise is that Donald Trump survived.

Trump needs to stop using the democracy word and start emphasizing a Constitutional Republic.

I want to see prosecutions. I wouldnt mind the Democrat party line be carefully analyzed on some legal/moral basis and for one, ultimately forbidding anything resembling “woke culture” from ever taking shape in the USA again. Freedom of expression my azz. When men are competing in women’s athletic competitions....no...this crap must forever be smashed.
