Alarmed group texts that buzz with the latest news. Rank-and-file staff dusting off resumes. A desperate rush to finish top initiatives before the clock runs out.
As President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign buckles under mounting pressure for him to step aside, federal workers throughout Washington are feeling anxious and scared. They have been nervously looking on as Biden’s abrupt evaporation of support has embroiled the Democratic Party in an unprecedented crisis, prompting thousands of employees to game out whether they should be preparing for a change at the White House — and mourning the possible end of the Biden administration that brought relative peace after the volatility of the Trump era.
Interviews with dozens of federal employees revealed a grim mood within the sprawling apparatus of the U.S. government, including the White House, after weeks of uncertainty. Some of these employees are overwhelmed and dejected by Biden’s conundrum — and gripped by worries about the lack of clarity over who will be leading the federal government after November. Many were granted anonymity because they weren’t authorized to speak publicly.
One White House official described feelings of “sadness” from the question swirling around whether Biden should continue his candidacy.
“We have to make some tough choices. … We’re in battle,” the official said. “We need someone who can represent us. I am incredibly loyal to our president, but it’s hard when you’re putting your life on the line like many of us working every night, every day, when you don’t know who is going to be on the top of the ticket.”

Understanding the Phrase “Escape Hatch” - A Guide for English Learners
If I didn’t post this before I will now:
@RealSKeshel has been following DAILY Maricopa County updates in voter reg. (Only MC for some reason, other counties update monthly).
In the 7 days since the shooting, Rs have seen a NET gain over Ds in MC of 3,000. I’ll say again: 3,000 NET in just 7 days. It looks like they are averaging about 400 net per day. MC is now R+6 (was +3 in 2020) and will likely be R+7 or even R+8 by election day.
Count is now up to 40 Congressional reps calling for Dementia Joe to drop out, great drama, Dems are going down in flames, woot

Thanks for more good news for our side and President Trump.
EVERYONE has known for years that Joe is mentally addled. The Robert Hur deposition was October 8-9, 2023. But the DNC went ahead and changed the rules and schedule to ensure brain-dead Biden was the nominee. Then they scheduled an early debate, and late Convention. Clooney throws a Hollywood fundraiser that ends with Obama doing a Visiting Angels walk off the stage - - the perfect setup for a debate they all knew would prove fatal for Joey.
By squeezing the last brain cells out of dementia Joe the deep state, media, and party setup a scenario of replacing him with someone at the last minute who could not withstand a rigorous 18-month primary, but would carry on the radical left agenda. Another figure head. A true believer radical. Someone who hates America.
I don’t know who they have selected to step in for Biden. But the Election 2024 script is replace Biden late, Iranian October Surprise, then harvest ballots like never before.
Trump needs to slash, burn and eliminate at least 10% of government.

it took six “reporters” to write this article ... weird that that bunch could only come up with panic in the Department of Agriculture ... i had no idea that the USDA was a bell-weather for the FedGov as a whole ...
Six writers? Holy crap.
Just like Peleliu, huh? Probably tougher than Iwo Jima?
Medals for all Biden's brave workers.
No. They missed.
A half an inch to the right and it would be the GOP in shambles today. The RNC would've been a bitter, sad, angry affair as unpopular former and never-rans scrambled for the top spot in an environment of zero enthusiasm and zero celebration. Biden would've been on a glide slope to an easy re-election.
I guess we'll find out exactly what desperate Democrats are capable of doing when they are oh, so close, and yet so far from their goal.

Roll the calendar back to June 26 and you’d have had six Politico pundits laughing their asses off at this headline, telling you it was a typo - should be Trump’s name in it not Bidens.
This is what schadenfreude tastes like!
>What rock do these people live under?
A fairly large one as it took six “journalists” to write this crap.
EVIL NEVER SLEEPS!
I’m not worried about the career bureaucrats losing their jobs.
They can learn to code.
For people who do not know the origins of Politico:
Politico was founded in 2007 by two Washington Post employees:
At some point Politico hired Mike Allen, who was a journalist for The New York Times and Time Magazine. Allen was hired to write a daily email newsletter for Politico.
In 2016, VandenHei and Allen left Politico to start Axios. Axios was established to be a digital short-form news source that focused on industry-specific stories. I think of it as a USA Today for Politico.
So, you can see that Politico is simply a front for the writers of The Washington Post, The New York Times, New Yorker, Time, MSNBC, Los Angeles Times, Slate, etc. Axios publishes a story or poll, then Politico writes a full piece on it, then the NYT and WaPo report that Politico and Axios said so and such... and then the rest of the LAAP-dog media report the NYT story. That's how the left gets its message into the mainstream subconscious.
This is the Democrat implementation of what the Clinton White House described as the "Communication Stream of Conspiracy Commerce" in a secret 1995 memo to describe the rise of the alternative right-wing media, or what Hillary Clinton called it, "the vast right-wing conspiracy." The full memo is here.
