In Canada, I’m not allowed to see a doctor unless I pull out my healthcare card. So, I don’t see a doctor.

Yes, that was the same thing they all said to promote Obamacare before it passed in the dark of night when Pelosi said “You have to pass the bill and then you can read what’s in it.” They did.

So if it worked how come they have the same complaint now?

Insurance companies. Instead of paying your doctor, they take your premiums and pay themselves.

They are not a charitable organizations.

Have you ever looked at what a doctor visit bills the insurance company. Office visit. $279, mental health evaluation $25. ( are you doing ok?, any problems at home questions). Knee rehab. $750 for 45 minutes.

The insurance pays the doctor $75 of the $279.

Meanwhile the insurance billed you $1000 a month and gave back to the Dr. $125.... insuramce gross profit. $875 for the month.

Part of the reason for that is the US pays more for medications is that the pharmaceutical companies turn around and sell at a steep discount to other countries. So in the end the US citizens are paying for 100% of the research and development costs.

The American health care system is burdened by extra costs due to third party payors, middlemen, lack of transparency, and drugs that are of marginal benefit, while inattention to and poor advice on wellness and nutrition impair health.

ACA has allowed insurance companies to purchase hospital networks, which purchase other hospital networks, which purchase doctor’s practices and force them to accept the insurance company’s policies and no other.

It kills what little competition there is left.

People who’ve illegally invaded the country get all the healthcare they want free of charge. You and I pay for it which is on reason why our healthcare costs so much.

The ACA was never about medical care being made affordable. It was so the Dems could pronounce that people who bought it had coverage.

Never mind that the coverage was (pretty much) for catastrophic incidents and simple "wellness" exams. Never mind that the portion of any medical bill covered by the ACA was minimal at best.

The Dems could claim people who bought coverage and paid big bucks for it, had health insurance! Whether or not it actually ever paid for anything was irrelevant. Optics. Kabuki theater. Dem tactics.

I pay out over $800 a month for Federal BC/BS and Medicare for the wife and I which includes dental and vision. I’m covered fully under VA care but the wife needs coverage as well.

I never understood the cost Drs and Hospitals charge and what they accept from insurance companies. Got a bill for $1575.00 for an X-ray, ins pays $315.00 and I owe nothing. That’s a $1260.00 loss or over charge for the X-ray.

Before the turn, I was a health benefits examiner for Great West, out of Portland, Oregon.

It was setup that the company “in their 80% of the paid benefits”, actually paid 80% of the 80%, and left the rest to the customer.
