A police car has been flipped on to its side as unrest and disorder broke out in Leeds.

Crowds of hundreds of people have gathered in the Harehills area, with police saying they are dealing with an "ongoing situation" that appears to have seen at least one fire lit and riot police later on the scene.

Councillor Salma Arif asked people to stay at home amid what officers described as "pockets of disorder".

Livestream footage on social media appeared to show vehicles on fire, including a bus.
