Why would the parents be concerned that their son was missing? They know that he was up to something, and missing is not what they were concerned about.

Not just because he was missing: He was missing along with one of the father's automatic rifles.

Apparently, he shot regularly at a ‘sportsmen’s’ club nearby. That would probably not have been unusual.

For a dad to react like that, would seem to indicate his son had made violent threats in dads presence in the past.

Does anyone know how the alleged shooter suspect got to the rally venue? I recall someone saying after the shooting the alleged assassin’s car was in the driveway at home.

Could be, but...

Wasn't he missing every time he went to shooting training? What was so special about 'this time' he was missing? No doubt, he was missing many times during his life at home, so, again, what was special about this time he 'was missing'? Missing with the gun is suspicious. but, it wasn't suspicious the many times he had left with the rifle before? They knew he was up to nothing good, and reporting him missing is suspicious in itself.
