I saw a report that it was just one neighbor who said there were trump signs. No one else saw them.

Apparently, he shot regularly at a ‘sportsmen’s’ club nearby. That would probably not have been unusual.

For a dad to react like that, would seem to indicate his son had made violent threats in dads presence in the past.

Does anyone know how the alleged shooter suspect got to the rally venue? I recall someone saying after the shooting the alleged assassin’s car was in the driveway at home.

No, but the post talks about how the parents probably weren’t Trump supporters, not about who the son was for.

Leftists are filthy liars, every single one of them, and will say whatever they think they need to say to advance their putrid agenda.

Unless I see a specific human being with a name that isn’t “John Smith” I assume, coming from a neighbor or a media liar, that it is a simple lie.

I wouldn't be surprised to find out that one or both of the parents has some connection to a government agency.

The roofs that the SS snipers were on, directly behind Trump, had a steeper incline than the shooter’s roof.

That was my first thought.

The parents heard about the shooting, and I’ll bet they immediately went right to where he stored his gun(s) and saw right away it was missing.

They probably listened to this son of theirs, day after day, talking how Trump was a POS and someone should do bad things to him...

He probably screamed and yelled these things, in such an emotionally unhinged way that alarmed even his Leftist parents who may or may not have subscribed to such things.

I will bet money that is what happened.

The story just gets worse by the minute. Who is complicit? Who is complacent? Why?

I know what you mean, but see my post above...I will bet that this dead shooter would rail about these things, and his parents, even if they did or did not agree or hold the same views, were unlikely to have been unaware of their son’s instablity and unhinged anger in this, and...

They did not secure their firearms.

It is one thing if your son is like Kyle Rittenhouse, who by all accounts, was a mature and responsible young man.

It is quite another thing with a lunatic like this shooter.

If they did not secure their firearms, I just do not believe they were unaware of his dangerous instablity.

If they had been unaware...would they have called the police?

The answer is almost 100% certainly they would not have called the police. Which makes them complicit.

To what extent they should be held responsible is a matter for discussion.

I do not for a second believe they didn’t get filled with fear when they heard about this assassination attempt. And I believe there is a reason for that.

Oh. The call was apparently made BEFORE the assassination attempt.

Which is even more damning.

Just to be clear-I get what you are saying, but if they were worried enough to call the police because there was a Trump rally and he couldn’t have been found, he shouldn’t have been living in the house with an unsecure firearm (either his own, or his parents)

Sure, if it was his own firearm, if one believes in the 2nd Amendment for EVERYONE (which I do, even for unhinged Leftists who are responsible for the MASSIVE imbalance in violent gun activity of ALL kinds) which I hate having to have to accept, then he has to be allowed. But living under their roof, well.

I just don’t think they called because they couldn’t find him.

I think they called because they couldn’t find him and he had taken his gun with him.

If Trump was holding a rally in a nearby town, and my wife came home and couldn’t find me, she wouldn’t call the cops.

And if she couldn’t find me and looked in a gun safe to find my firearms missing, she wouldn’t be worried and call the cops.

But his parents did. (I don’t know if they saw the firearm gone. Or, if I am going to speculate, he left them a note. Which they probably destroyed, if he did.

I don’t know. We don’t know when or what the parents actually knew.

There were reports that the son belonged to a shooting club nearby; I’m not sure, but it seemed his father and he both shot there. It’s possible the son always had permitted access to the gun. (The person who heads the club was very upset about his club being linked to this crime.)

As someone else wrote, people with mental issues can be very good about hiding their symptoms; and reports are that this was a very intelligent young man. It could be that some crisis caused it all to come out, and the parents really didn’t know before that he was this imbalanced..

I just like to wait for the whole truth before I condemn people.

The incompetence of law enforcement is mind boggling.

When seconds count, police are only minutes away. /s

That their lives are over as much as the firefighter’s.

Not just because he was missing: He was missing along with one of the father's automatic rifles.

Could be, but...

Wasn't he missing every time he went to shooting training? What was so special about 'this time' he was missing? No doubt, he was missing many times during his life at home, so, again, what was special about this time he 'was missing'? Missing with the gun is suspicious. but, it wasn't suspicious the many times he had left with the rifle before? They knew he was up to nothing good, and reporting him missing is suspicious in itself.

I understand. But the evidence that they called the cops, even before the shooting is damning.

They knew something. And whether it was his gun or his parent’s gun...they knew something was not good.

All that is not normal.

That itself is true as well. Their lives as they knew it are over.
