Who is J.D. Vance and why would he be qualified to run the country if something unthinkable were to happen to Donald Trump? The answer in a word: 'He's not.' Oh, but that was two words. But that doesn't matter because he actually is qualified, for the very reason that he's not qualified. Simply put, he's not a career politician. He's a real person who represents real Americans.
J.D. Vance, the freshman senator and best-selling author from Ohio, is Trump’s running mate for the upcoming election. He is the first Millennial on a major party ticket and brings a refreshing change to the political landscape. Vance’s background is as diverse as it is impressive, making him a relatable and compelling candidate for vice president.
J.D. Vance is young, and this youth can help bridge the gap between generations. He can connect with younger voters who might feel alienated by the older political class. Moreover, Vance can bridge the gap between the working class and the 'non-working' and 'ivory tower' white-collar class. His journey from a lower-class family in Middletown, Ohio, to Yale Law School, and eventually to the U.S. Senate, epitomizes the American dream.
Vance's upbringing in a financially struggling family and his subsequent success story resonate with many Americans. His bestselling memoir, “Hillbilly Elegy,” outlines his life experiences and provides a raw and honest look at the struggles of the white working class in America. This background makes him relatable to the working class, while his education and professional achievements allow him to connect with the more educated and affluent voters.
J.D. Vance has shown remarkable growth and change in his political views. He once disapproved of Trump but has since evolved to support him fully. This evolution represents not just personal growth but also a broader understanding

That’s all.
The “unthinkable” that they almost pulled off this weekend.
While I see Vance as a risk because I don’t believe his brief record since being reborn as MAGA has earned our trust, he has earned Trump’s trust. All the arguments made in this piece are true. He is young, has a compelling story, and IMHO, younger voters will relate to him much more than yet another boomer.
I would add that he is likable, charismatic, thinks quick, is articulate, and will be an outstanding salesman for Trump and the Trump agenda. He will likely be sent out for frequent media engagement in the MSM, where he will easily outmatch the talking heads and democrat puppets.
I still have concerns whether he is legitimately the future of the conservative movement, but we have 4 years to figure that out. Meanwhile, he will have a pretty good mentor...
JD is a new and improved Dan Quayle. They take a clean cut young man and groom him to be the next president. But JD is far smarter. He was a marine. He is clearly very gifted. He does not come from money.
So Trump, the generals and the CIA will spend the next four years putting voices in his head. The generals and the CIA will try to tell him how to be a swamp monster. Or how to use the military for statecraft. Trump will put in a voice too. But Trump will not try to install his own voice. He will try to get Vance to hear the people’s voice. And four years from now, we will listen. And if we hear the peoples voice coming out of JD we may vote for him. But if we hear the swamp, we will choose someone else. Like your own child. You can give advice. You can be an example. And you can pray the result is positive. But you never know until you know.
By the way, the press will try to destroy him. You will hear horrible renditions of every statement Vance has made, every decision he has made. They will try so hard to rip him apart. Because the democrat press knows he will be powerful in four years. So they will try very hard to destroy him now because he is at his weakest.
Did Obama serve in the Marine Corps?
Is anything unthinkable?
You forgot the evil LBJ.
JD does not claim to be a combat veteran. He was assigned to an Air Wing in Public Affairs and has stated that he never saw combat. Unlike some politicians, he is honest about his service.
Exactly. And if republicans ignore this then I don’t know what to say. Everytime the media asks about two years, say Obama and then next question.
Better than Biden.
Simple.
His judgement.
“the press will try to destroy him...”
They started last night. I turned on PBS first expecting relatively sane comments, but they were badmouthing Vance.
He’s at least as qualified as NObama was when he became president.🙄
This is the question that they are asking? Why isn’t the question about Biden or Harris’s abilities? Either of my bird dogs have more sense than Biden at this point...and my cat can give Harris a run for her money.
Exactly.
And if you were a Leftist, Obama was a phenomenal success! Went from junior senator to twice-elected president. Guided the Democratic Party far leftward. Massively expanded the Deep State. Filled Washington DC full of unelected partisan kommissars, many of whom still hold their jobs!
What didn't like it but the junior Senator from Illinois proved very capable at doing wheat he did.
So are all of my friends and family, but that doesn’t make any of them qualified to be POTUS.
As with all things political, I hope for the best and prepare for the worst, so I hope Trump has made a good choice.
Obama never served in the military, let alone in a combat zone. I was thinking today, what do you think Obama would have done if a bullet ripped through those rather large ears of his?
