He was also approached by a local copper. Hired murderer pointed his rifle at the copper — who promptly retreated. So, why did the copper not get behind a corner and fire several shots into the air? That would have gotten everyone alarmed and the SService snipers pointed in the right direction. He didn’t have to be a hero, just not on the murderer’s side.

Were local coppers so bloody incompetent that this did not occur — or so wrapped up in Trump hatred that they behaved like the Uvalde coppers?

Good point. Had he done that, and created a commotion, he would have effectively ‘sounded the alarm’ that would have alerted everyone that there was a threat. This might have enabled the snipers to neutralize it before he could take aim.

Would have also possibly (since they were so slow) gotten Trump pulled into safety / down faster.
