Former President Donald Trump will announce his vice presidential pick Monday, he told Fox this morning.
Trump has long teased who his running mate will be and has yet to reveal who it is, or specifically comment on who is strongly in consideration. Sources close to the Trump campaign previously told The Post that Sen. JD Vance (R-OH) and North Dakota Gov. Doug Burgum are his top contenders, as well as Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.).
His announcement lines up with the first day of the Republican National Convention, and comes two days after a gunman shot Trump in the ear at a Pennsylvania rally, nearly missing his head.

I was reading about Vance last night. He is a strong person. I want to read the book, maybe watch the movie.
I think roots matter more
I agree roots matter and deserve to be looked at.
Speaking of roots, Vance was a Protestant who converted to Catholicism.
Looks like he changed his roots a bit.
Reminds me a bit of low energy Jeb who converted because of his marriage.
Vance stated his conversion was because he “became persuaded over time that Catholicism was true”, and described Catholic theology’s influence on his political views.
I not making an argument against Catholicism, just making an argument about roots.

I thought Trump wanted someone with executive experience.

Seriously, he’s toning down harsh critiques for a unity message instead, for which Tim Scott fits nicely, more so than he did last week.
Vance, Burgum are fierce advocates for Trump and his policies but not so much for a unity message.

Give me a true MAGA believer. I don’t care what state, gender or color. Just don’t need a spy for the Deep State as VP like Pence. By the way, I doubt you’ll get a Flynn or Carson. It has to be someone whose personality can appeal a little more to the middle like Gabbard, but still be loyal to Trump. Unless you think this election is a done deal and we can win with anybody. They’re cheating again and nothing is guaranteed. I personally can’t stand Nikki. It’s probably Vance. I’d take Marco. He’d would crush Kamala in their debate and helps with Hispanics.

If Trump picks a deep stater like that then they will kill him in order to install said deep stater.

Well Pence was a severe Christian playing conservative for many years. He was a long time ago a RAT. His only real change was that he went from RAT to globalist RINO.
But Reagan was also a RAT in his earlier days.
People can change and the ones who are sincere about their change can be the most trustworthy.
Our fight now is good vs evil. And Trump needs to pick a person RATs and RINOs hate also.
