The Secret Service blamed local police for failing to secure the rooftop from which gunman Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate former President Donald Trump, insisting it was outside of the perimeter the federal agency was tasked with protecting.
Instead, securing and patrolling the factory grounds of AGR International Inc. — located about 130 yards from the stage where Trump was speaking Saturday — was the responsibility of local Pennsylvania police, Secret Service representative Anthony Gugliemi said, according the New York Times.
The Secret Service was only tasked with covering the grounds where Trump’s rally took place, with local police being recruited to assist with those efforts and secure the area outside of the rally.

“Feds throwing the locals under the bus...”
Well, Trump needs Pennsylvania to win the election. He was just given the gift from the Biden Administration.
BLAME GOES TIO ALL!!!
That SPOKESCREEP actually said that the Trump gang was LYING!!!
WTF?? the sniper had a FIX on the KILLER for 3 MINUTES and WAITED for PERMISSION to SHOOT?? The KILLER GOT 6 to 8 SHOTS OFF!! SICK!! PATHETIC!!
Feds throwing the locals under the bus...
Yup.
Ironic. Remember Katrina? Bush and FEMA got all the blame for not rescuing everyone, while local government resources fumbled around and did very little.
Guess the blame depends on which party’s administration is in power. Big surprise.
Did SS follow up with local police to verify they actually had that building secured ?
Any pre rally due diligence ?
If it was a setup, it failed; whereupon, logically...
“The bulk of the team there were.... DHS “security” people”
This makes sense. If you watch the footage of security officers around the stage (not one it), there are a ton, many of whom are women, with their pistols drawn, fanning the crowd.
It’s a basic practice to hold a weapon at low ready until you identify a target. You don’t indiscriminately point your weapon into a large crowd of people while sauntering your fat ass around the venue looking for bad guys.
My guess is that the candidates will now be speaking from behind bullet proof glass.
I agree it was a setup.. they got a nobody Antifa type punk who carried out the job because it was an “easy shot”. That way they could say it was an isolated incident.
Ridiculous. If they were “tasked”, then then leadership required checking, especially overlooking buildings within easy rifle shot. Absolutely lame abdication of leadership responsibilities.
Like any job you can direct other people do you’re still responsible to ensure it’s done.
That’s a good question, and the roof was even adorned with a fixed built in ladder so the guy could easily get up there.
That ladder should have been blocked to prevent easy access.
This kid just didn’t wake up that morning and decide to whack Trump. It’s obvious planning was involved as to where Trump would be, the known location of a roof top with a ladder and the distance of the shot as well as lax security that distance away.
And that cop that backed away should have engaged him with gunfire. He would have been an easy kill being just a few feet away. It would have been a deciding moment in that cop’s career at either being a national hero or a disgraced coward. It’s obvious which path this chicken$hit cop took. I bet this DEI cop is just proud as punch today.
Is this the “challenge” that Biden made a sinister reference to have coming his way?
“ Recall that the message of the first press conference with the FBI and PA state police was don’t blame us. It was the SS job. Sh#t is rolling down hill.”
*****************************************************
Rolling down hill? More like swirling around in the Deep State’s cesspool.
They may delegate, but the buck stops with SS to make sure he job is done.
Curious about that myself.
That statement likely came from 4chan’s /pol/. I wouldn’t trust anything coming out of /pol/.
