n the same way that Joe Biden thinks “What would Hunter suggest?” when he wonders about staying in office, whenever I enter a voting booth, I always think, “What would George Clooney do?”
Those of us who rely on Hollywood actors for our political views don’t get them often enough.
So how very lucky were those of us on the Biden-Harris email list last month when we got a personalized email from Clooney himself.
“It’s George Clooney,” it opened.
How the heart sang.
George Clooney is emailing me!
This very personal message went on, “I’m not exaggerating when I say that this election is the fight of our lives.”
Who wouldn’t believe him?
To my knowledge, no Hollywood actor has ever exaggerated.
And I’ve also never before heard someone say that an election might be the most important of our lifetimes.
This is new information, for sure.
Clooney went on to explain: “It’s a choice between those who want to pull America back to the past, and those who want to move America into the future.”
Again, I could not help thinking that this insight felt fresh.
