Poll: Catholics Reject Church’s Pro-Migration Policies

A plurality of Catholics want less immigration, contradicting the bishops’ activist support for President Joe Biden’s mass migration, according to a June 2024 report by a church-affiliated survey team.

Forty-three percent of 1,342 self-identified Catholics said they want the inflow reduced, according to a summary by the Center for Applied Research in the Apostolate (CARA) at Georgetown University.

Just 23 percent favor more migration, even though 37 percent of the respondents said they are Latinos and 41 percent said they are Democrats. Just 30 percent said they were Republican.

Twenty-three percent said they want migration to be raised, and 34 percent said they want it to be kept at its current level.

Just one in five told the pollsters that they thought migration was an unalloyed good:

It doesn’t matter what Catholics or any other Americans want. We’ve been begging for less immigration and for illegals to be kept out at least since the Clinton administration. How many millions have been let in since then?

After homosexual priests, this is my second complaint about the church, its support and promotion of illegal invasion of the US.

Pope Francis has no problem with either of the above. He's just worried about Mother Earth, clotshots, and his new world order.

The Son of God was born in a manger in Bethlehem because Joseph and Mary had to return for the census. They couldn't just stay in Nazareth despite the hardship of Mary being pregnant or because Joseph just felt like it.

Christ himself said, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's...". Clearly the law meant something.

One of the reasons I am distancing myself from my conservative denomination. The fawning over illegals is ridiculous and a slap in the face to legal, hardworking immigrants and American citizens.

Church has a dirty little secret most Catholics are unaware of....They are getting millions to “”help the migrants”.......

The Catholic Church has lost a large portion of its flock in America and is looking to illegal immigration as the road back.
It won’t succeed, but the Church is desperate.

The loss of Faith by American Catholics can be traced back to the late 1950’s and early 1960’s.
This coincides with the Papacy of one Angelo Roncali, better known as Pope John the 23rd.
It wouldn’t be nice to point the finger at this particular Pope, but the very left leaning Pope John, who hosted the Ecumenical Council, made a very visible effort to move the entire Church, and its flock of one billion faithful, to the political left. He was hailed as a great leader by the liberal press, just as world wide liberalism itself was in the ascendant.
His policies is what opened the door to men who should not have been anywhere near children, and the end result was an unmitigated disaster that has horrified parishioners around the world, with the resultant loss of church-going faithful.
He destroyed the trust that honorable people had in the Church itself.
Now the Church is belatedly attempting to reassert itself as a meaningful part of American society, as it should, but not at the expense of America’s national identity as a free and independent nation.
There is far more power and success in time-honored tradition than untested policies, most particularly when the stakes are so high.

Go back further. Immigration was an issue during the Reagan administration.

The Simpson-Mazzoli Act of 1986 was supposed to solve the problem

FYI-—As part of a 10-month investigation Scripps News uncovered that every year, thousands of migrant children disappear from their homes shortly after arriving in the U.S. But there is no clear local, state or federal government agency taking responsibility for searching for many of these missing (Apr 2, 2024)

This is so bogus-——the kids arent missing, they are loaned out, passed around to other migrants. to be used in lucrative scams to get tax dollars from S/S and hefty disability checks.

Biden overturned Trump’s order to get the DNA of these so-called needy families, to make sure the kids are really theirs.

A common practice by these greedy illegals is getting a crooked doctor to say a kid’s autistic b/c they get hefty SS tax paid benefits every month for the kid.

The maximum possible disability benefit for autism in 2024 is $943 per month for SSI and about $3,822 per month for SSDI. These maximums apply regardless of what condition you have or whether you apply with one condition or multiple. The actual amount received depends on specific circumstances. (Dec 7, 2023)

Disability Living Allowance (DLA) is a key benefit for children under 16 living with disability, including autism. It is assessed according to care needs, and a diagnosis is not required to make a claim. DLA helps cover the extra costs of raising a child with a disability. (Jan 30, 2024)

And it’s a sure bet they invent their “circumstances.”

And i’m at the top of the list....i have not contributed a dime to Catholic Charities in more than a decade because of their stance on this issue...I used to give hundreds each year to the Cardinals Appeal here in NY- no more because of their stance on illegals...

Further- and i’ve posted this before- i used to be a devout practicing Catholic that went to mass by myself every week since i was a kid. Even on vacation i would find my way to church on the weekend- no more....

Since Frankie has been at the helm i’ve not gone to mass most of the past three years, except on Easter Sunday....i never would’ve considered missing mass in the past...and before the haters chime in- i pray every day, sometimes multiple times a day...

Some say the Church is eternal and will not fail - I say they misinterpret what Jesus meant when he said he would build His church on the rock of Peter - He meant Peter’s faith in proclaiming/believing in Jesus as the Son of God - not the monstrosity that became the “Holy” Catholic Church which is run by flawed humans, many of whom are not unlike the pharisees that plotted to have Jesus killed. His church is the believers who proclaim Him Lord and Savior, not the cabal of “priests/cardinals/bishops/Popes that insinuate themselves in as “necessary for one to go to Heaven” when Jesus said all we need to do is confess our sins to Him, repent to Him, and claim Him as Lord and Savior.

I live in LA and first began noticing it in a big way around 1992. I remember Clinton giving a speech in LA and people holding signs saying, “LA is a third world cesspool.” We didn’t know then how incredibly worse it would become.

Yes, Joseph and Mary were obeying the law. They were not “illegal aliens” as many try to say. Later, when they went to Egypt, it was because an angel told them to, and they went back home as soon as it was safe.

I, too, am disgusted with the issues you mention, and I refuse to financially contribute to those scams, but I will not let the evil ones who have infiltrated the Church keep me from the Eucharist. Why give Satan a win?
