With the Republican National Convention slated for next week in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, all eyes are on who former President Donald Trump will select as a running mate.
Trump recently told reporters he had narrowed his vice presidential shortlist to a handful of possibilities. However, Trump's campaign has, on more than one occasion, cautioned that anyone "claiming to know who or when President Trump will choose his VP is lying, unless the person is named Donald J. Trump.”

Doug Burgum...
J.D. Vance...
Elise Stefanik...

Tim Scott...
Tom Cotton...
Ben Carson...
Byron Donalds...

Ah, the speculation. And so much better than guessing Superbowl teams.
Interesting as this is one of the fuller lists, but odd it is missing Governor Sanders and Governor Youngkin.
If the choice comes from this list, my continued guess is Tulsi Gabbard. She'll be great against Harris, she has leadership and confident presence, she's a veteran, a former legislator, aligned with Trump, and a lot more. She would bring votes to Trump's MAGA base. None of the others would bring new votes.
Gabbard is still a Democrat. Though Trump really doesn’t owe the GOP anything at this point.
What votes will she bring?
If chosen Gabbard would shake up the Rats.
She’s better than RFK jr., but I don’t see her being a good VP. She basically has no supporters in the Democrat Party anymore.
It won’t be Rubio unless somebody is going to be moving.
Saunders and Youngkin are probably going to run as Governors. They are young and can afford to not grab an opportunity for one election cycle.
I don’t think she has a Democrat base anymore. She probably has more Republican supporters.
Democrat gabbard is a hard-core leftist ... period ... only a RINO would think she would be the best VP choice ...
Go check out her many speeches and interviews, such as with Don Jr, at the recent Faith event, and others. She has really aligned herself with Trump over the past several years, her independent streak is a great bonus. Like Trump, she's a former Democrat.
Trump needs to pick a pure natural born Citizen born of two American citizen parents the founders would accept if they were alive today.
Gabbard is, like Trump, a former Democrat.
Vance is suddenly even money in the betting, no one has been that low of odds yet.
He was co-favored with Bergum yesterday, obv not anymore.
Cuomo or Burgum?
She'll help with the others that have left the party, plus likely entice more to do so as well.
All underwhelming, tbh. But does it matter?
Burgum and Vance haven’t aged well.
Tulsi is wise, brave and very anti-war.She would be for borders and law and order She is very articulate. She would be a good 2nd to a commanding Trump.
Doug Burgum was just endorsed by Karl Rove, which is a kiss of death.
Tulsi Gabbard is a chameleon, she changes colors to blend into new environments. Yesterday she’s a commie, today she’s MAGA, when Trump is elected she’s a Pence.
Trump needs a VP that has a well established MAGA type background from day one.
Many have the mindset that the pick should be based on who brings in the most new votes. With that logic then Nikki Haley would be it. Now we all know she’s a deep stater, but I’m using her as an example to show how flawed that mind set is. We don’t want to bring in another back stabber like Pence for the sake of votes.
I think Trump’s promotion of Rubio to the Florida crowd is to also pave the way for him to run for governor when DeSantis’ term is up. It’d be a good move for Rubio.
I think you’re right.
