On Thursday evening, Joe Biden held what was widely dubbed his "big boy" press conference...
It was a rough start, for sure...
Of course, the speech was irrelevant. The questions and answers are what matter and it didn't go very well.
For starters, his "big boy" press conference was made up of pre-approved reporters.
In response to the first question, which was about Kamala Harris's ability to serve if he doesn't, he said, "I wouldn't have picked Vice President Trump to be Vice President if she wasn't qualified to be president."
Joe Biden even seemed to think somebody else is the president.
And there were all kinds of brain malfunctions...
Make no mistake about it: this was not a great press conference, but it was better than his performance at the debate and his interview with George Stephanopoulos. And that's a problem for the Democrats. From the perspective of Biden's campaign, that's good enough for him to stay in the race.
Joe Biden's campaign is cratering, and this press conference won't convince the naysayers that everything is fine -- and it won't convince the holdouts that Biden should go. The situation remains at a stalemate, which means the Democratic Party will continue to be divided over what to do about Joe Biden.
At the moment, it looks like Joe Biden will survive to fight another day. But the forces hoping to get Biden to step aside are still growing. What's going to happen next? Who knows?

No sir, it is NOT a disaster. A disaster for Democrats would be when they are being rounded up, tried treason (trying to take over the government illegally by cheating in the voting process) and hanged. Nothing else would be a disaster for them.
People were falling asleep. Biden knows all the WRONG things about foreign policy. He’s been wrong on everything foreign policy wise his whole career. What are you talking about?
The Dems might be lulling the GOP into a complacent attitude to supress Republican turnout. Put nothing past them!
He sounds sort of normal because of the drugs they give him, yelling and doing the creepy whisper is not normal
Point well taken, they haven’t faced justice in forever. Trump needs to immediately fire and replace all federal prosecutors, giving the new ones marching orders to prosecute election crimes, civil rights violations against conservatives, and corrupt politicians. Every government agency needs to investigate political bias and government interference in social media and commerce.
Do you really think the listeners to his speech are up to analyzing it? What most are listening for is whether the scandal in the media is true or not.
Were they going to hear a tottering old guy who can’t string two sentences together and who pretended to be the president of the United States and power in the world.
There’s no way most of the people listening made any discerning view of the CONTENTS of his speech. They were after a jump on party and didn’t get it. That’s going to annoy them. But what Biden said will float right over most of them. Even the ones who came to listen aren’t the hard core political animals that we are. They didn’t get the show they were told they’d get so they’re going to throw their hands up and walk away. They’re not going to understand anything but that on every topic he had something to say and he didn’t go into one of his stiff silent starings or mumble into obscurity.
ENJOY IT! We’ve got the opponent we want.
Agreed. But that can be tossed away as his being a dramatic showman. It was the staring and the fading-to-nothing sentences that would have taken him out.
BUT IT DIDN’T, thank goodness.
Biden reeled in some of the doubters tonight, but there is still a substantial amount of dissent going on.

His entire “press conference” was a campaign speech. Donald Trump needs to be awarded equal time. This was blatant.
The whole thing wasn’t a “press conference,” it was a campaign speech. There really is no doubt about that. Trump needs to be granted equal time on all the networks hosting this meandering screed.
Agreed it was a campaign speech but bet it won’t meet whatever requirements would give it a right for equal time. That’s the innate advantage to the incumbent.
This kind of thing makes me think q is real… this has to be all stagecraft right. Is Joe Biden really running the show with the power to launch nukes? NFW… either the cabal is coming down or we are going to have thermonuclear war. These geriatric psychopaths must be destroyed and exposed. Hell they are exposed… does anyone in government with kids want to live?
Hang in there Joe. Nancy is just a member of Congress now. Clooney and Obama are aging has beens. You are the President. You won the nomination. If they have buyer’s remorse too bad. No refunds. No exchanges.
What you are saying is how the Democrats and the press will spin this. Misstatements aside, Biden says mainstream Democrat points, which is what Democrats and the press want to hear. Ultimately, they will fall back in line and support him as they did four years ago. That he keeps showing his health issues does not matter to them.
Back to our side, this is good for Republicans and Trump. Biden is propped up by doctors who are managing his meds and times he speaks. The more Biden appears in public, the people will catch on and the less Democrats and the press can cover for him.
