Part of what brought Vance to the dance may be his undoing. Donors are scared of him.

In his rise from Donald Trump critic to viable contender to be the presumptive Republican nominee’s running mate, Sen. J.D. Vance of Ohio has come so far. But he may fall just short thanks to some risk-averse GOP donors.

It figures you would pick the most leftist, neocon, establishment candidate.

Of course, you are a U.S. hating, who wants to see the country destroyed.

If the donors are that scared of him, maybe he’s not so bad.

I like Youngkin. I also like Vivek Ramaswamy, Sarah Huckabee, and Tulsi Gabbard. Vance and Rubio should stay in the Senate. I don’t like Bergum, not sure why.

It's down to Youngkin or Rubio. If Trump needed VA he would have picked Youngkin, now that the election is won, I fear he'll pick Rubio.

It will be interesting to see the lawfare NJ throws at Trump when he claims Bedminster as his residence for 2024.

If you’re an independently-minded individual, you’re not lashed to anyone. Like I’m not lashed to holding my nose and voting for a Rino for Vice President. If you vote for Rinos just to keep the seat Republican, you’re part of the problem. All you do is perpetuate the Rino problem. Check your own IQ, especially since you seem to be of the mind that voting for a POS just because they have an R behind their name makes good sense.

"It doesn’t really matter who the V.P. pick is."

It does matter who the V.P. is, because they are one breath away from the Presidency. If you don't think that it's important not to have a Rino as V.P., then you are part of the problem and willing to perpetuate the Rino problem in the GOPe. You can hold your nose and vote for any POS with an R behind their name. I don't have to and won't.

"As for taking all your marbles home if you don’t get your way in the VP pick."

I want a true Conservative and loyal Trump supporter as V.P. Someone proven to be loyal, not some Rino who swings with the wind, to be a breath away from the Presidency. If you think it's okay to vote for a Rino who is a POS, go ahead. I don't have to, and won't help perpetuate the Rino problem.

You are more intelligent. Many posters here think all American voters think alike.

You must never forget all Americans don’t think same. This is now badly divided country.

I’ve always heard this, and I still think its true.
The Rats & GOP can count on about equal number of votes - 455% - 47%. The battle is over the remaining 15% to 20%. They are various reasons for staying so apolitical some good some bad. But politicians “bribe” them into choosing a side and that’s the battle.

Donalds is a Representative from Florida. Leaving that position to become a resident of another state while still in office would open a silly-sized can of worms.

So, in the case of Byron Donalds as VP, Trump could move. Trump has properties in several states.

Honey the reality for any philosophical group (let’s say conservatives, for instance, since that’s what we are. A conservative voter seeks to have a conservative government elected to institute conservative policies. In a conservative district with staunchly conservative voters, you nominate the most staunchly conservative candidate that is electable- which in this case would be a right wing conservative; in a moderate district with staunchly moderate voters you nominate as conservative a candidate as is electable- which in that case would be a general conservative; & in a liberal district full of staunchly liberal voters, you nominate the most conservative candidate as is electable there- which in that case would be a moderate conservative.

In a country that is designed to really only offer two parties of voter coalitions, you get a conservative-right-center party or a liberal-left-center party. It’s nor a parliament where you are sent up with a choice of 10 different doctrine ire parties. That’s a reality of our form of government & it’s something that is baked in. When you are dealing with that reality,..

You're one of the biggest frauds here. You long for the days when the Republican party was the party of George W. Bush.

The dividing line between establishment and grassroots candidates is opposing to the proxy war in Ukraine. Vance has vehemently opposed it.

As far as Vance's record goes:

JD Vance on the Issues

JD Vance is a Hard-Core Conservative
