Lefties don’t believe in objective truth.
Therefore they’ll lie whenever doing so helps them politically or financially, and they think they can get away with it.
Even if they just think they can fool a majority of voters they’ll tell lies that are obvious to those not brainwashed.

Publishing misleading crime data for years? Try decades! Twenty years ago when I had to do work up their I made sure I was carrying 24/7.
I believe this is happening elsewhere too. Can’t remember if was NYC or Philly, but heard some of their crime stats are down 30% too.
Mostly? Mostly accurate? Yeah, democrat liars can't lie about people murdered because they have the pesky dead body to deal with.
But the other 'violent crimes' - I'm guessing those are filled with errors as are car jackings statistics, assaults, robberies, and burglaries... etc. Anything they can lie about and get away with they lie about. And get away with. It's the 'democrat way'. And the their butt boys in the press - - they cover for them and don't ask questions.
The FBI doesn't care when democrat cities lie. They help the the liars in blue city hellholes. Why? It makes democrat cities attract companies and grants and look better. The lies help vegetables like Biden pull the wool over citizens eyes about 'crime going down' under Biden. Lies, lies, lies... that's what democrats are.

They like to use other countries statistics too - showing how safe those other countries are. I read one article where rape is so much lower in European countries than in the USA.
Further digging found out that rape in Europe means actual penetration (or something - maybe it requires violence?), whereas in the USA it includes lesser forms of sexual contact.
At one time most of the criminals in Oakland were on the football team.
So feed us bull$hit all the time is just fine.

Is this data more or less reliable than say the unemployment numbers or inflation numbers? In other words, which democrats tell the biggest lies?

Living in San Francisco, I have had my car windows smashed five times.
I only reported it the first time. They do nothing and there is no point in reporting.
So crime is vastly underreported here imo
