Wasn’t Bismarck, it was Hindenburg. But you make a number of excellent points. Hitler never won an election. And I believe the Nazis did worse in 1932 than in 1930. So they just flipped the table and took power through their street mobs, that resulted in Hitler becoming chancellor and Hindenburg’s days were numbered.

They joined with the Communists to wreck the Weimar Republic. Both sides sponsored street brawls and joined in sponsoring strikes.
