.
Precisely!
I just got back from a week in Michigan. For someone who campaigned on a solemn pledge to “fix the damn roads” she’s done a horrible job.
The roads are beyond awful.
“The roads are beyond awful.”
When we visit home in western NY, in spite of state taxes the roads are dreadful. Of course, the roads in that area are in conservative parts of the state, so they’re getting ZERO help. (Except where the freeway goes through the Indian reservation; they’re never not being repaired.)
We drove through an area where even small houses were over $1,000,000. The roads were patch on top of patch. You couldn’t do more than 15 mph. Deplorable. But probably a conservative area.
No I refuse to answer these calls so my wife did and said we are voting for trump then they started in on Gretchen being great and my wife said no we are not changing then they pressed her and she said no way we will ever vote for any democrat and hung up.
Gretchen Hitler aims to take over the rat party.
You are not even fit for making sandwiches, honey.
...and that gets to the questions I have:
[1] Are there back-room discussions going on to pick a new suitor?
[2] Why hasn't ANYONE from the Dem side stepped up and said 'I want to run for President' just to give Dems someone to rally around (and/or to bring others out of the woodwork)? Is there that much fear out there or is everyone waiting for Obama to issue some sort of decree?
Right now, the Dems are running away from Ol' Joe.. but none of them are running in the same direction. You'd think they'd have to find a map somewhere... and soon.
“Whitmer says she doesn’t like seeing her name mentioned as possible Biden replacement”
And we were really looking for you to run ... Bwhhahahahaha
That works too.
I just don’t answer their calls, caller ID is wonderful!
What?
Is it Fall already?
“Whitmer says she doesn’t like seeing her name mentioned as possible Biden replacement”
I don’t either.
Backroom power games, whether resolved now and just a matter of time—or still ongoing. The Obama/Clinton rivalry presumably continues.
President Biden understands the stakes even if the legacy media is unwilling to say them out loud. He yields NOTHING or loses EVERYTHING. Post-debate there is no in between.
If he withdraws voluntarily as the nominee, in short order he would have to resign as POTUS or be removed via the 25th amendment. The idea that he could be the lamest of ducks through January 2025 even as the new nominee rallies the entire legacy media to trash him (as would be necessary for there to be any chance of getting elected) is not sufficiently plausible to make it worth it to Biden to take that risk.
Sooner rather than later, Biden will be threatened with the 25th Amendment and will be told that if he resigns ahead of this then his successor, POTUS KHarris, will pardon Hunter. This will be the enticement.
It is implausible to me that the Dem elites will pull up short of using the 25th Amendment if this is the only way to resolve the issue.
Those fake Michigan ballots won't manufacture themselves...
Correction: Gov. Whitmer really intended to say she doesn’t want her blame mentioned in the same news article or news coverage that also mentioned Biden. Not is the same paragraph, not in the same story, not on the same program. Just keep his name away from me, she pleaded, please!
Witchy Whitmer, Toothsome Newsom, et al. — aren’t going to waste political capital on a hopeless run vs. Trump. They’ll wait until 2028.

I think this analysis makes sense. Even if the Rats pull Biden/Harris out of the race at the convention, you’ve got a divided party and chaos. Not the right climate for a win against Trump who’s an awesome campaigner, former President, and already leading in the polls.
