Exactly a week ago, after the first round of the French election, I wrote:
A more cautious person might bet on Mme Le Pen coming up just a wee bit short [of a parliamentary majority] - if only because all the forces of the French elites are determined to stop her.
That was my worst-case scenario, after the Rassemblement National's victories in both the European election and the preliminary round of the French one. Instead, what Mme Le Pen's comrade Jordan Bardella calls "an alliance of dishonour" between Emmanuel Macron's "centrist" technocrats and Jean-Luc Mélenchon's hardcore leftists drove the so-called "far right" down into third place.
So Macron's guys won? Er, no: the lefties did. They will be the largest group in a National Assembly where no party has a majority. M Mélenchon, a Corbynesque "magic grandpa" [top right], says he wants to be prime minister to implement the central planks of his platform - increasing the minimum wage and lowering the retirement age from sixty-four to sixty (in a land where life expectancy is closing in on eighty-three).
The BBC dispatched their man to report the jubilations on the street:
"I'm so relieved," grinned university student Sarah Bennani, 19, moments after the results were broadcast.
"When I go home tonight, I won't be afraid that someone grabs my hijab," she continued, accusing the far-right National Rally – which could only manage third place in these elections - of fuelling racism, and racist attacks across France.

It just seems universal that the Left has to claim a great fear that the Right (who want less government authority) will come down on them like jack-booted thugs and repress the Left, and throw them into camps, and grab their hijab and all of that nonsense. This over-powering "fear" that the Left likes to claim seems to justify (in their minds) their need to come down on us like jack-booted thugs. The lawfare against Trump is justified because Trump is "literally Hitler". This madness seems global.
So, far left is really just sensible moderates?
They can’t vote their way out now. By the time the next election comes, the communists will have let in 10 million more muslim rapists to outvote the native French.
All because of the worship of “diversity” that allowed leftists to gain power. “Diversity” is the battering ram used to destroy Christendom and Western Civilization. Even so called Christian worship diversity above their own religion. They willingly toss aside Christendom in Europe and the Americas all for the sake of “diversity” because it makes them FEEL SO good and morally righteous...
It’s because many cultures are incompatible. Once (via immigration) you let enough people of another culture into your own nation, it now becomes a battle to establish values. Immigration without assimilation will inevitably lead to disunity and decline.
The globalists are using immigration, largely muslims, to weaken nation states, over burden their economies and bring them to ruin. Welcome to the New World Order. I can’t believe Americans are voting for their own enslavement - but here we are.
They are lying. And of course projecting, it’s in their handbook.

The real problem is not that someone is going to grab her hijab, is that her ilk will make more women wear them, who are not even Muslim.

France and the UK will now always have to answer to muslims. That means any NATO actions will will have to be filtered through how they expect their muslims to react. Moving forward, Islam will have significant impact on NATO.

I thought it was the Leftist government that insisted on banning symbols of a religious nature in order that France become unified in goal of a 100% non sectarian society.
A return to Tribalism will not be a pretty one.
