A President Harris would nominate her VP but the house and senate needs to approve and we have a history of not doing this, there are long periods of history where there was not VP. I doubt a replacement would be approved before January 2025.

OK. Kamala would need a simple majority of both houses of Congress to confirm her VP nomination.

Hell - the Wide Latina was easily confirmed 68-31 by the Senate. You know there will be enough GOP votes in the House to confirm any choice she makes. Newsome. Gretch. Big Mike. Bathhouse Barry would probably gets the most confirmation votes from GOPE (experience for the good of our nation, etc., blah.)

She effectively gets to pick whomever she wants to hand the presidency to shen she quite to take Soto’s Supreme Court seat (can she nominate herself for that?).
