Viktor Orbán visits Vladimir Putin to condemnation from fellow EU leaders

Viktor Orbán, Europe’s most pro-Russian leader, met Vladimir Putin at the Kremlin on Friday on a rare trip to Russia that drew strong condemnation from other European leaders.

Orbán’s visit to Moscow came days after he made a similar unannounced trip to Kyiv, as the Hungarian prime minister attempts to position himself as a peace broker between Russia and Ukraine.

Shortly after landing in Russia for his first trip to the country since Putin launched the full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Orbán published a photo with the caption: “The peace mission continues. Second stop: Moscow.”

At the Kremlin, the two leaders held talks that a senior Moscow aide described as a “frank conversation” covering all issues related to Ukraine.

Speaking at a joint conference with Orbán afterwards, Putin signalled he was not ready to compromise on the maximalist demands he made of Ukraine last month.

BLESSED are the peacemakers, Freepers. The EU wants perpetual/endless war.

This will end sooner or later especially when DJT is elected.

As a great man once said: “Jaw, jaw is better than War, War.”

Time to stop the fighting and sit down for a real lasting peace—not to re-arm and plan new attacks. Peace is the key.

Going to see Le Pen making the trip to kiss Putin’s....ah....ring as soon as she gets control. She’s done it before.

Time to stop the fighting

YOU may decide to stop fighting but Russians never do. Do not make the mistake of thinking Russian rulers are like us. They are not. "Negotiation" to them is just war by other means. As many diplomats who have faced off with them have told us, but we keep forgetting.

No surprise how the neocons like Cuck Mulligan only ever criticize right-wing figures like Orban and Le Pen

A great man once said, “There’s no argument over the choice between peace and war, but there’s only one guaranteed way you can have peace - and you can have it in the next second - surrender.

Admittedly, there’s a risk in any course we follow other than this, but every lesson of history tells us that the greater risk lies in appeasement, and this is the specter our well-meaning liberal friends refuse to face, that their policy of accommodation is appeasement, and it gives no choice between peace and war, only between fight or surrender.”

Was that “great man” chamberlain
Putins “peace plan” is for Ukraine to give up land, even more land than Putin has presently occupied. Then leave them basically leave Ukraine unable to defend themselves in the future.

In the name of protecting “ethnic” Russians he has sentenced hundreds of ethnic Russians, non- ethnic Russians and Ukrainians to death and injury

And for what? More land and resources for the largest country with vast natural resources? To protect against NATO expansion, even if Ukraine never joins NATO that ship has sailed with Finland and Sweden.

To protect against western invasion, well there is still Finland, Poland, Estonia and latvia directly on his border, regardless of Ukraines status.

Perhaps, would love to see the list of successful “peace”
agreements with dictators, esp when this agreement give them everything they want.

So off the mark my friend. History says otherwise

Only when you read history written by Russians.

Name one treaty or international agreement in the last 100 years that Russia didn't violate.

Sorry forgot /s at the end

I am a fan of Pink Floyd, but their talking song always makes me smile
Basically everything will be fine “ if we just keep talking”

As another saying goes “talk is cheap” and dictators love people who want to “talk”

Russia didn’t violate the Molotov–Ribbentrop Pact. They were planning to, but Hitler did it first.

That’s the only one.

> Name one treaty or international agreement in the last 100 years that Russia didn’t violate. <

In 1947 the USSR signed a peace treaty with Finland. The terms were harsh for Finland, a country that had been sort of allied with Nazi Germany. The USSR never broke that treaty.

Considering everything, Stalin was rather restrained with Finland. The Red Army in 1945 was powerful and well-lead. Stalin could have occupied all of Finland as he had done with Poland, Hungary, etc. But he didn’t.

I consider Putin to be a war criminal as he started the shooting in this current Ukraine/Russia war. And that pushed Finland into NATO.
