If it were the 1990s, Joe Biden’s primetime interview Friday with ABC News’s George Stephanopoulos would be a ratings monster. There would be no Netflix, Hulu or PlayStation to compete with it.
What’s more, Biden’s performance would be dispositive, either dooming his candidacy or resuscitating it — that’s how much power the mainstream media once had.
In my estimation, doom is much more likely, regardless of how many credulous Americans tune in to the spectacle. Indeed, this interview strikes me as a no-win proposition for Biden...

“The entire reason for it...” is only true for the Biden cabal. Stephanopolous isn’t necessarily part of that cabal. There’s a large and growing faction that now believes that Biden is an albatross around the neck of the Dems, and the only way to save the Party (Party above all) is to get rid of him post-haste so someone more viable can be brought in.
His only incentive will be to perform the task assigned to him by the deep state. If they want Biden out, all he has to do is act like a journalist. If they want Biden in, all he has to do is act like a sycophant.
From what I can infer from the many articles, the 15-20 minute interview will be taped, but ABC promises they won’t edit it.

I can see Tapper, Bash, and Stephanopoulos being People of the Year if Trump wins.

"ABC News said it will move an interview between the anchor and President Joe Biden to Friday evening, rather than waiting until Sunday morning as previously planned, a sign of the extreme interest in seeing the Commander-in-Chief address issues of physical and mental fitness in the wake of a poor debate performance against former President Donald Trump last week. The interview is the first Biden has granted to a mainstream national news outlet since the debate performance.

You can put lipstick on a pig, but it’s still a pig. And they can say Biden isn’t suffering from dementia, but Biden is obviously suffering from dementia.
No amount of interviews, campaign rallies, or other nonsense they come up with can hide Joe’s dementia... And his decline progresses on a daily basis... Because that’s what happens with dementia patients.
By November, he may not even know who Jill and Hunter are anymore.
I’m thinking Biden will announce his pulling out.
