We need rain in the worst way. I’m praying.

Be careful what you wish for. If you are in a drought situation, and the ground is very dry and hard, torrential rain is more likely to just run off and cause flash flooding.

What you want is a slow steady “soft” rain that slowly soaks into the ground over the course of several days, something you aren’t likely to get from a TS.

Central Texas coast is likely the spot for landfall which puts the Houston metro area on the dirty side. Expect rain and flooding.

Houston remains in the fringe of the cone of uncertainty, current Houston rain estimates 6-8 inches. Current landfall forecast between Corpus Christi and Matagorda Bay.
