During the days of the Mongol empire there was a significant battle between (if I recall, Polish) knights and the Mongol horsemen. The Mongols retreated. The knights pursued...until they were surrounded and butchered.

Russia wouldn’t get all of the states that voted to join them and the Ukes would be getting as much as possible. Every day the Russians capture a few square miles. This is all territory that Z will never get back. Stopping sooner is better.

What a load of BS spin. Strategically important? It’s a piece of dirt without a weed standing. Hilarious that Russia fights for control over a swath of rubble & dust. Ukraine interest is best served to retreat to save resources and let the Russian clowns have it for a propaganda victory.
