Proceeds from oil and gas sales for Russia's federal budget rose by around 41% year on year in the first half of the year 5.698 trillion rubles ($65.12 billion), finance ministry data showed on Wednesday, due to rising oil prices and the weaker ruble.
Oil and gas revenues have been the most important single source of cash for the Kremlin, accounting for around a third to a half of total federal budget proceedings for the last decade.

Stupid is my vote. Otherwise, the Neocons would have MODERNIZED our military before starting a land war in Russia’s backyard. Their stupidity stems from the fact that they’re convinced that our weapons are INVINCIBLE!!!, as we saw in Iraq, in 1991. And while they have a long memory, their short-term recall seems to be a lacking (kind of like their hero in the White House), as they cannot seem to comprehend that Russia has DESTROYED our best weapons almost like a Turkey Shoot.
