IF true, Ds will be all over Trump for violation of the Logan Act, (we went after Kerry a few years back for similar acts) but in this case his aim is in concert with the administration: stopping the Ukraine war.

What are Trump haters to do with this ? The man we despise shares our goals ?

Moot point, though....sounds like completely made up bullchit.

Williams: "Keep making up nonsense.
And this article is nonsense."

There seem to be a lot of ideas floating around as allegedly from "Trump's campaign", ideas which may or may not represent anything more than someone's aspirations.
So, what, exactly, Trump is willing to give away to "Russkiy Mir" in exchange for a temporary peace in Ukraine, is anybody's guess right now.

But if the deal Trump strikes is disgraceful in terms of Ukraine's internationally recognized borders, Russian reparations and Vlad the Invader's war crimes, then prospects for long-term peace are not so good after all.

cableguy #9: "This war can not go on forever, someone has to win.
We all know it won’t be ukraine without a massive world war.
Trump won’t start one. but biden will."

So, first of all, "win" and "lose" are matters of definition and perspective.
In a perfect deal, everyone will feel like they "won" what was most important to them, but everyone will also "lose" something less important -- that's the Art of the Deal.

Second, there is already a "massive world war" being waged, on a scale not seen in Europe since 1945.
I'd call that Cold War II, but the Cold War itself was 100% global, with battles in every continent except Antarctica.
And if we only consider major Cold War conflicts -- Korea, Vietnam and the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan -- then we are looking at around 10 million deaths (including civilians) over 44 years.

By some estimates, Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine has already produced over one million casualties in under 2.5 years.

So, bottom line: Vlad the Invader started Cold War II with his full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
How the Ukraine War ends will help determine the outcome of Cold War II between the Axis of Evil Dictators and Western style democracies.

Jan_Sobieski #12: "Nah…you’re just mad because Americans don’t want to send our children off to fight for LGBTQI rights in Russia.
We actually care about our children, our unpayable debt, and protecting our kids from sodomites at home.
Why should I care about commie-pinko-fags in Ukraine or Russia, when they are here in the USA parading their junk and grooming and mutilating our kids?
BTW…are you a commie-pinko-fag?"

So let's take these one by one:

  1. No American has been forced to fight in Ukraine, nor has anyone ever suggested they will be.
Perhaps 10,000 Americans have volunteered to help Ukraine with humanitarian aid, training & technical services, as well as some military volunteers.

  2. As far as alleged fighting over "LGBTQ rights", that's just babbling nonsense, which only says there's something wrong inside your own head, having nothing to do with Ukraine.

  3. Your alleged "unpayable debt" is not the fault of Ukraine but is the fault of our Democrats' wild spending of many $trillions on massive vote-buying schemes, by comparison to which a few $billions for Ukraine are a mere "drop in the bucket".
So, the problem with "unpayable debt" is not Ukraine, it's Democrats.

  4. Protecting your children from "sodomites at home" is unrelated to Vlad the Invader's Russkiy Mir "Special Military Operation" against Ukraine, and why anybody might wish to link those is simply beyond reasonable understanding.

  5. And yet again you seem obsessed with your "commie-pinko-fags in Ukraine or Russia" -- despite the anachronism of "commie-pinko" and irrelevancy of "fags" in Russia or Ukraine.

  6. As for which Free Republic posters are, or are not your "commie-pinko fags" -- seriously?
Is that all you've got -- ridiculous personal attacks?
wgmalabama #67: "I dislike Ukraine and Russia but their poor men, now close to a million are giving their lives to keep corruption in power on both side.
I am for the poor bastards being killed for very little national security but political greed."

Your sympathies for poor men and women are well placed, but your context is all wrong, because it's not about "corruption" on "both sides".
Rather, it's about Vlad the Invader's unprovoked Russkiy Mir conquest and enslavement of Ukrainians in the name of the New Russian Empire and with strong support from the New Axis of Evil Dictators.

Your calling it all just "corruption and greed" is like trying to justify a rapist (Vlad the Invader) because the young woman (Ukraine) was less than perfectly innocent.
That argument isn't allowed any more in civilized courts.

StayoutdaBushesWay #25: "Russophobia Detected"

Seriously?
You're here to peddle "Russophobia" as if you are Hillary Clinton calling normal Americans "Islamophobes"?
How does that even work in your own mind?

In the debate, Trump said he would end the war before taking office. Perhaps he is doing research on how to keep yet another campaign promise
