President Joe Biden will sit down with ABC News on Friday for his first television interview since last week's presidential debate.
The president's poor performance in the debate has garnered calls for him to drop out of the race by politicians on both sides of the aisle.
Biden will speak to "Good Morning America" and "This Week" anchor George Stephanopoulos for the interview. A first look will air on the Friday, July 5, edition of "World News Tonight with David Muir" with portions airing on Saturday and Sunday on "Good Morning America."
The extended interview will air Sunday, July 7, on "This Week" and Monday's episode of "Good Morning America."

Indeed. The GOP response to this debate debacle has been underwhelming. For good or for bad - the Repub lawmakers have kept quiet.

They suck. But it's the right move. Our goal is that Joe survives until the Convention in Chicago.
If Gavin Newsom is running against Trump, Newsom will win. He's handsome and charismatic. He'll have the whole machine behind him. Literally unstoppable.

Everyone should know that the WH wrote the questions and Biden had rehearsed the questions for four days.

I agree that the Republicans in the house have been way too easy on Biden and his administration, we have a new ballgame with what occurred in the debate. It was so bad that the worst thing would be to replace Biden. While there are some technicalities that might be encountered in doing so, with Biden at the top of the ticket, the enthusiasm for Democrats would crater. We should bide our time until after the DNC where there is no point of return and then unleash our arsenal.
In a similar vein, where I wanted Garland to be arrested by the House, a $10K per day fine is acceptable. Let it pile up and then after Trump’s election prosecute Garland. We no longer need the release of the Hur tapes. The debate showed everything that is needed.
As a retired actuary, I will give a mathematical view of this. There are a number of people who are Trump or Biden supporters (or anti one of them) whose votes will not be changed. Many are non-political who view the politics on rare occasions such as the debate. What occurred has a twofold effect. First is movement away from Biden. Biden did not gain any voters from the debate. (As bad as the debate was, any is not 0 but is very low and that is the context of the meaning of any). The Luntz focus group of undeciders had an extremely high movement to Trump. (10 of 14 raised their hands to say they were more inclined to vote for Trump. Luntz noted that he has not seen such a result). I think even bigger is the enthusiasm gap will be humongous. That is what I believe will be devastating to Dems downstream. This is why we should exploit this after the DNC convention.
Thinking about this theme, the RNC convention should go after Biden on his policies and spend most time about their plans to turn things around. Trump’s speech at the RNC should consist of at most 2 funny lines about Biden’s condition and contrast what problems are occurring now with what he will do to fix it.
I’ll be out Friday evening and will have to miss this.
But it’s OK. I’ve seen enough train wrecks on TV in the past few days. 😏

If I'm Trump, I'll attack "fake news" aka CNN. They lied about "Sleepy Joe" the past four years. That's the winning move there.

And will be taped at 11:00AM the previous day no doubt. We should have a drinking contest, one shot for every jump cut edit in the interview. Oh yes, cancel all Church / Dinner plans.

Snuffelupolous has an absolute professional and patriotic duty to grill the president HARD on his own policies and the world situation sector by sector.
That aside I can’t imagine what they are doing here. Puffballing a dementia patient on live TV will have the same effect at grilling him. Hell he won’t know the difference.

They don’t have to jump cut. They keep a camera on the host and cut to him nodding and being impressed whenever convenient. This allows them to use other audio. They can also show the president from an artsy back angle as he’s speaking and over dub any cogent remark he might have made to the clip. Since you can’t see his face you can’t see the out of sync. Movies do this all day long, if you watch.
