I thought I just read last week that Steponallofus was giving that stuff up. I guess he just couldn’t handle not being important.

Will they set a record for retakes and cuts to come up with a viewable result?
The media needs to show Biden to voters as much as possible so a decision can be reached quickly about whether to keep him on the ballot.
This means it will be pre-recorded which will allow for retakes and generous editing. Under those circumstances, it will be a completely false and dishonest program.
Joe and the Mrs. have to be thinking of the family legacy. There's already Hunter, and now this debate. Every election, at some point, the old Kennedy vs Nixon tape rolls. Biden's performance will be recalled for the ages. Boy, does he not want that to be the last word.

The problem is that dementia never sleeps—it just gets worse and worse.
The “day to day” strategy is a doomsday march under such circumstances.

My guess is that, yes, he will.
IMO, TPTB want to get Biden off the ticket. Steffy will put FJB to the test.
If FJB doesn’t measure up, the axe will fall. If he somehow does, and I don’t think he will, then FJB is their guy.
Yeah, this is the best case scenario for Trump, and the worst case scenario for the Democrats. It's probably too late to replace him anyway, but the idea that they think he won't keep doing the thing is hilarious. Even if he has a few coherent interviews, you know everyone is waiting for it to happen again. And it will.
Reminds me of this old joke:
Marvin was a 14-handicapper, but one day he walked up to his club pro — a scratch golfer — and challenged him to a match. He proposed they put up $100 each on the outcome.
“But since you’re so much better than me, you have to give me two ‘gotchas’,” Marvin said to the pro.
“A ‘gotcha’?” the golf pro asked. “What’s that?”
“Don’t worry,” Marvin replied, “I’ll use one of my ‘gotchas’ on the first tee and you’ll understand.”
The golf pro figured that whatever ‘gotchas’ were, giving up only two of them was no big deal — especially if one had to be used on the first tee. He agreed to the bet, and the pro and Marvin headed to the first tee to start their match.
Around four hours later, club members were amazed to see the pro handing Marvin a $100 bill.
The club members waited for the pro to enter the clubhouse, then asked him what happened.
“Well,” the pro said, “I took the club back on the first tee, and as I started my downswing, Marvin knelt behind me, reached up between my legs and grabbed my crotch, and yelled ‘Gotcha!'”
The club pro just shook his head.
“Have you ever tried to play 18 holes waiting for the second ‘gotcha’?”
