President Donald Trump celebrated the Supreme Court’s Monday ruling on presidential immunity that impacts the indictment against him concerning January 6.
The ruling held in a 6-3 decision that presidents are covered by limited immunity from criminal prosecutions for actions taken while in office.
“BIG WIN FOR OUR CONSTITUTION AND DEMOCRACY. PROUD TO BE AN AMERICAN!” Trump posted on Truth Social.
Chief Justice John Roberts, who wrote the opinion for the Court’s majority, said:

SCOTUS notices that Trump’s indictment includes only “select” January 6 tweets and “brief snippets” of his speech, “omitting its full text or context.”
This is why old Twitter nuked trump’s account. They hid the evidence of Trump calling for peaceful protest. pic.twitter.com/oaquPraZDG— Gregg Re (@gregg_re) July 1, 2024
Moving forward, the “case will now be remanded, and will likely result in the dismissal of some or all of the charges facing the former president in federal court in Washington, DC, relating to the Capitol riot of January 6,” Breitbart News’ Joel Pollack wrote.
The win is the latest good news for Trump and his reelection campaign.

Unofficial acts would include things like hosting “hot dog” events that have nothing to do with hot dogs but are in fact child sex trafficking, like happened in the White House during the Obama years.
Now... Biden’s classified documents are a whole different story.
Since when is being old and senile a legal defense against prosecution?
Everyone talks about Hur saying he decided not tro prosecte because Biden is too feeble-minded, but since when is that a legal defense?
-AND-
WHAT ABOUT THE 200 PAGES OUTLINING THE CRIMES HE COMMITTED? NO ONE TALKS ABOT THOSE
Saying this country, democracy is like fingernails on a Chalkboard.
Based on my knowledge of qualified immunity applicable to enforcement officers in civil cases, the Courts decision didn’t surprise me, it only confirmed for me the validity of a long line of civil cases following the landmark Biven’s case. Qualified immunity for agents performing their official duties is very broad and I am certain that what Trump did on January 6 falls within the broad reasoning of these cases. When civil suits are brought against LEA alleging Constitutional violations, the agents will invariably receive government representation unless they were unquestionably acting outside the scope of their employment - and the scope is very broad indeed. Now, granted the Court is looking at the J-6 matter from a criminal perspective, but I would argue that the Biven’s line of cases are highly instructive. Trump was clearly acting within the scope of his official duties on January 6, 2021.
You’re weird
It may well be true that I’m weird. What I’m not is a Debbie downer spreader of absolutely false defeatist drivel. This is a unequivocal win. Enjoy it as such
Debbie Downer Drivel? Me?
You, like so many on here, can’t comprehend the games they play.
James case and Ergeron case a disaster that will get turned over.
Records case is on life support.
J6 case, like most cases, you only hear about the prosecution case. You never hear about the defense case. Is Smith using any info the Jan6 committee? How could he if Bennie Thompson has it all destroyed.
You can do cartwheels if you want. Those that live in reality know that the decision was about more than Pres Trump.
Is it awesome? Yes. His cases are over. But that decision is about insurance for the other folks.
Who is the dumbest - the wise Latino or the non-biologist woman?
