Illinois has “lost” far more income from people who would never want to move there in the first place.
The late Illinois Senator Everett Dirksen warned everyone about the consequences of the 1964 USSC decision case Reynolds v. Sims. He’s been proved right in his home state and all other states where large urban centers dominate.
He Was so concerned about its long-term effects that he tried to get a Convention of States convened.
Never lived in Illinois, nor did I ever want to.I have visited there however & it wouldn’t be bad if they got got a decent government. I used to be in constant contact with someone in Rockford & the problems with Pritzker & his bunch made up a fair share of the conversation. I can certainly understand people moving away from there.
