Illinois has “lost” far more income from people who would never want to move there in the first place.
It won’t be long before those thousands of illegals start contributing to the economy. Then no one will miss the white folks who moved away.
We retired and moved out of Illinois in 2020. We loved downstate Illinois, which is predominantly conservative, but the state government is controlled by leftists from Chicago. We are now across the river in red state Missouri, and we love it. Our property taxes alone are 1/3 of what they were in Illinois.
Looks like it is time for another tax increase.

Replace em with “Dreamer” Fed Benefit recipients, pack em like cattle into Fed Funded schools, Feed em with Fed Funded food stamps, bare bones Fed Funded Medicaid.
Pack em in Fed Funded housing, with Fed Funded Utilities.
And take 50% off the top of everything for Union Leaders, DEI Goobermint and Education hires.
The plan is clear and easy.
