Gov. Phil Murphy of New Jersey, who hosted a private fund-raising dinner for the president at his home on Saturday evening, was among those receiving a call from a senior White House official.
“It was acknowledging that they had a tough night and also acknowledging that we’ve got to remember that this has been a heck of a run the past four years, and we’ve got to keep it going,” he said in an interview, adding, “They have to hit the gas pedal hard.”
At his event, which raised $3.7 million for the campaign, Mr. Murphy introduced the president as “America’s comeback kid.”
As some Democrats dreamed up ways to draft another candidate on private text chains and in quiet conversations, top Biden officials told nearly everyone that there was no viable alternative and Democrats needed to stay focused on the threat posed by Mr. Trump.

“Donors are very concerned,” Mr. Meeks said. “I had a number of them come and said that they were panicked, to be quite honest with you, that we had to do something, we had to do something now. And others who came up to me and said it would be a mess to do something now.”

One of Mr. Biden’s top advisers, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to preserve relationships, said the idea that a younger candidate could replace Mr. Biden and still beat Mr. Trump in November was akin to a “D.C. parlor fantasy.” The adviser compared that hope to the speculation that Nikki Haley or other Republicans could have knocked Mr. Trump off the G.O.P. ticket.

Doesn’t the anger that he exhibits over NOTHING show up in people with Alzheimers/dementia? He shows anger when it isn’t called for as if yelling loud enough will get his points across. I don’t think THAT works with anyone who is the target of his explosive temper. THAT kind of behavior just isn’t normal. I would challenge any dem to come up with a picture of Donald Trump behaving in that matter. He’s managed to keep his cool in spite of what he’s been put through - at least in public. What he’s like in private, only he and his wife and other members of his family know.
Joe isn’t normal - never has been..has been used to getting his own way for many, many years and the voters of DE fell at his feet each time.
Keep the DemoRats infighting and twisting themselves like pretzels against each other. Methinks Sleepy will be much more defensive and they will over compensate his prepping but it will have similar outcomes as this recent one. They will spin it regardless what happens or doesn’t.

All the spinning now is to have something to say in public while the behind-the-scenes plans are being ironed out. These plans do not include a Biden candidacy.
The aggressive threats are out there. If you are a Democrat and you speak out getting him out, you’re over and done with. Finished.
But, there ARE people speaking out - even some liberals. The thing to be closely monitoring right now is what is Harris and her staff and surrogates out there doing? Where are they doing it? And, how much is she really in touch with Biden’s regime on a daily basis now?

Biden looks horrible. Doesn’t blink. Looks like he is going to fall asleep. Staring off into space. Has a vacant look. Uses a cheat sheet. All this and I have an hour to go.

Those laws can be hastily changed if it’s a blue state. Executive order etc. Emergency Declaration and the Secretary of State can change election laws.
