In the wake of Joe Biden's debate implosion, there's a lot of panic going on in the Democratic Party.
CNN's John King encapsulated it on Thursday night:
"Very aggressive panic," he termed it.
In the immediate wake of the debate, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) spoke with Ben Ferguson on their podcast, "The Verdict," about the debacle.
As Rebecca Downs at our sister site Townhall reported:
Cruz agreed with King that "Joe Biden did unbelievably badly, that the degree of dementia he is facing right now, it has escalated to a point that it is unrecognizable," adding "I think there are a great many Democrats who are looking at this saying 'we cannot nominate this man, he is not capable, he doesn't know what's going on.'"
Cruz thought former President Donald Trump did very well and let Biden "hang himself."
Trump was also "restrained, even as Biden was saying ridiculous things. He was restrained, he was calm, he was matter of fact; he prosecuted the case. And Biden couldn't handle it. Biden repeatedly was screaming, 'you're a liar, you're lying!'"
While Trump was restrained, Biden couldn't stop going off and screaming about Trump being a liar. That didn't go over well; it looked freaky and desperate.
Cruz pointed out the terrible numbers for Kamala Harris; he said they'd lose if they made her the nominee, but they face a dilemma if they try to push her to the side for someone like California Gov. Gavin Newsom.
Cruz spoke about the theory that Biden would be replaced. In the wake of the debate, he thinks the likelihood has skyrocketed from his prior prediction of a 50 percent chance.
The senator offered "I have to say we have just witnessed what I believe is the most consequential presidential debate in U.S. hi....

Democrat party rules make it very difficult to replace a candidate before or after the convention unless the candidate voluntarily steps down - and even then, it is pretty much a free for all.

So first we had the wife of the most previous Democrat president (not incumbent) running for president.
And now we might again have the wife of the previous Democrat president running for president.
Not to mention in 2000 we had the son of the previous Republican president running for president. And then again in 2016 we had the son and brother of previous Republican presidents running for president.
Quite the little oligarchy we got.
No thanks!
So, Big Mike can claim only reason to run is save USA from the orange tyrant.
BHO asks Big Mike to agree to be top of ticket with a Gavin Newsom as VP. Kamaltoe is appointed Governor of California by Newsome. After the November election, “Michelle my Belle”then steps down leaving Newsome as the President-elect. The dems then find another DEI to serve as Vice President. (This checks off most of their boxes)
And she's been quoted as saying she hates work.
Exactly. So she will never put up with it.
Yep! Like a demon rat said… Be careful what you wish for! I believe once they boot dementia Joe out of the running this will be their excuse and age narrative to try to drive a stake through Trump’s heart! That’s why I was hoping that our stupid Republican base would not be agreeing to have the cadaver replaced. They should’ve used reverse psychology and demand that they keep FJB on the running ticket. The RINO backstabbing POS weasels are out there screaming to use the 25th amendment and giddy saying FJB needs to be replaced. These are the folks that hate Trump. Instead of flipping the tables on the dirty rats and accusing them of the lack of democracy, which they been screaming for months and accusing Trump of a threat to democracy. They should be accused of destroying the democracy process!! So who’s destroying it? I tell you we have the most stupidest , spineless representatives in the DC swamp….it’s infuriating. Might be their replacement will resuscitate their dying campaign and win on November 5? We might be in danger of them having been thrown a lifeline and a winning ticket.

the Democrat party in the wake of Biden’s debate disaster.
How many times does she have to say she doesn’t want to be president? it’s not going to happen.
No! She isn’t running Ted. Why say this as a senator? Saying so doesn’t help Republicans at all.
AGAIN:
HER COLLEGE THESIS WAS TITLED:
“WHY I HATE AMERICA”
“The American public is chronically distracted, and stupid. I fear Big Mike would win big.”
Stupid maybe, but they may be distracted until they buy gasoline, or go to the grocery store, or see the hordes of illegals daily.
And I will never, ever, never understand the sentiment of most people on this site who will invariably say that Big Mike will win in a landslide.
I just can’t understand why people think that she is such a darling of the American people.
Can anyone imagine her in a debate with Trump? What on earth can she say, talk about, except hug and touch nonsense.
She would run, as any democrat will, as a safe harbor from Trump, pretending that Trump has never been President, has no record to run on, while Trump is going across the country reminding people how things are and how he will address issues.
CAN ANYONE see her in a MEETING with other heads of state???
I CANNOT.
Biden was incoherent and a huge flop.
Trump deferred to the moderators before responding......such class.
He was poised and articulate.......loved it.
The moderators were surprisingly fair.
I didn’t realize Ted Cruz was such an idiot. It’s not going to be Michelle Obama, because Michelle Obama does not want the job and would not run for anything.
Are they going to threaten her with a gun to make her do it?
Well if you’re going to go there it would be his fifth term.
Yes, some is needed. Are they going to force her to run at gunpoint? Because that would be required.
[[The moderators were surprisingly fair]]
Yes, I was expecting them to be hostile, u hinged even, but they surprised me- they were still slanted, but that was to be expected- the moderation went well I thought.
