The case for Pompeo
Washington Times ^ | 6/28/2024 | Tom Basile

Posted on 06/28/2024 8:38:31 PM PDT by Right Wing Vegan

Mr. Pompeo is keenly aware that today’s Democratic Party is the chosen vessel for a bold strain of Western Marxism that has been rising in America since former President Barack Obama’s time. He knows what’s at stake in this election if the far left continues to march through our institutions, media and corporations.

Graduating first in his class at West Point, Mr. Pompeo has lived the U.S. Military Academy motto, “Duty, Honor, Country.” He is appalled by the “woke” military. From the sobering intelligence he’s seen, he understands the importance of restoring America’s military capabilities and projecting them smartly to suppress the unchecked influence of China, Russia and Iran.

As a veteran, Mr. Pompeo understands the risks of engagement and is an advocate of an effective deterrence philosophy, leveraging all the power the United States can muster against our adversaries — military, diplomatic and economic. He knows that power can be used to avoid kinetic wars and that we need to adjust our strategy to better guard against today’s asymmetric warfare tactics.

As a former business executive, Mr. Pompeo can speak from experience about how best to expand the economy. He has run a business, taken risks and met a payroll. For a nation facing inflation, mounting debt and a statist if not openly socialist political left, Mr. Pompeo can articulate a new Trump business plan to reinvigorate and sustain economic growth.

As a three-term member of Congress, he had a 96% rating from the American Conservative Union. He has had the courage to call Randy Weingarten and the teachers unions a “true threat to our nation.”

As a former CIA director, he saw firsthand the challenges of an intelligence bureaucracy that many Americans openly question for its effectiveness and loyalty to constitutional freedoms.

Pompeo will not be in the next Trump admin. He is a deep state critter and totally unacceptable.

I get it, you think Putin is stronger after NATO weapons wiped out so much of his equipment since 2022.

Some people allow journalists and whistleblowers, both of whom having their respective contributions for sure, but neither of whom understand nor should be entrusted with national security issues, hiss them into hysteria. Especially if it’s about someone who is not expected to give them their weed.

You've posted so much off topic stuff, but still no evidence that Putin “neutralized much of NATO’s weaponry”.

Why are you scared?

You're not a serious poster on the Ukraine.

You show up occasionally to do one of these drive-bys that you're known for, then you disappear for a week or two.

Dunno if he did, or did not. Here are links to the Yahoo news report that Pompeo/CIA drafted plans to assassinate Assange because of the release of Vault 7 information by Wikileaks, articles referencing the Yahoo report, and a Ron Paul Youtube video.

Thanks for putting this up.

Tucker Carlson just went over this again on his tour Down Under. (I can't imagine DJT would ever let Pompeo darken his door again.)

So the whole claim starts with a yahoo article showcasing melodrama by anonymous "senior officials" and everyone else regurgitates it spurring the "Mandela Effect".

Actually, CIA should have considered many possible scenarios to deal with Assange. Just because some leaks were beneficial does not mean he should be trusted with more.

Actually, there is no evidence that Assange did anything more than what the New York Times did with the Pentagon Papers. I don't believe assassination is the proper response to a journalist who reveals criminal behavior on the part of a government agency. Imagine assassinating the editor of the New York Times.

While I do not see proof that the CIA/Pompeo considered plans to assassinate Assange, I would be surprised if the CIA did not consider such a course of action following the publication of the Vault 7 leak to the public. The CIA redefined WikiLeaks to be a "non-state hostile intelligence service." Wikileaks may be the first intelligence service to publish its intelligence scoops to the public.

There is a bit of a difference between a "journalist who reveals criminal behavior on the part of a government agency" and one that commits hacking and espionage primarily, and is a journalist secondarily. Such person is correctly categorized as a threat, and a foreigner besides, I'm not making any assumptions or giving him any power to determine what is a crime and needs to be divulged.

CIA routinely considers all possible ways to deal with such threats, as it should. I would think it is not doing its job if it does not consider eliminating such threats even by assassination.

I will say furthermore that if there are Americans supporting such threats, aligning with members of foreign Libertarian party elements, as well as spy elements, and engaging in deceptive campaigns against patriotic leaders such as Pompeo because he stands in the way of international libertarian and socialist comspiracies, CIA should consider all possible actions against them as well.

What is your evidence that Assange hacked Vault 7? Assange did not, and there is none.

CIA routinely considers all possible ways to deal with such threats, as it should.

Assassination is murder. Some people believe government officials have the lawful authority to murder those they do not like. They believe the CIA can, does, and should act as a Star Chamber, being judge, jury and executioner.

I will say furthermore that if there are Americans supporting such threats, aligning with members of foreign Libertarian party elements, as well as spy elements, and engaging in deceptive campaigns against patriotic leaders such as Pompeo because he stands in the way of international libertarian and socialist conspiracies, CIA should consider all possible actions against them as well.

I would further say that anyone who would say suich crap without doing the least bit of research into the case at hand, speaking without knowing what he is talking about, has probably earned a Judge Juan Merchan gag order.

A former CIA employee based in the United States was tried and convicted for copying the information and uploading it to Wikileaks.

There would have been nothing patriotic about murdering Julian Assange for publishing information that had been given by an American to Wikileaks. The person who leaked the information was apprehended, tried and convicted. The person who actually did the crime was not executed.

Perhaps you think Edward Snowden and Glenn Greenwald should also be executed by the CIA for informing the public of illegal CIA programs and spying on Americans.

Freedom of the press is in the First Amendment for a reason.

WikiLeaks publishes CIA trove alleging wide scale hacking

[excerpt]

It was not immediately clear how WikiLeaks obtained the information, which included more than 8,700 documents and files. The CIA tools, if authentic, could undermine the confidence that consumers have in the safety and security of their computers, mobile devices and even smart TVs.

WikiLeaks said the material came from “an isolated, high-security network situated inside the CIA’s Center for Cyber Intelligence in Langley, Virginia.” It didn’t say how the files were removed, such as possibly by a rogue employee, by hacking a federal contractor working for the CIA or breaking into a staging server where such hacking tools might be temporarily stored.

On Wednesday, a jury in New York convicted ex-Central Intelligence Agency engineer Joshua Schulte on all nine charges he faced (as first reported by @InnerCityPress) as a result of the single largest leak in agency history. Dubbed Vault 7, the files and information shared by WikiLeaks in 2017 exposed a trove of tactics and exploits the CIA used to hack its targets’ computers, iPhones or Android phones, and even Samsung smart TVs.

Joshua Adam Schulte (born September 25, 1988) is a former Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) employee who was convicted of leaking classified documents to WikiLeaks. WikiLeaks published the documents as Vault 7, which The New York Times called "the largest loss of classified documents in the agency's history and a huge embarrassment for C.I.A. officials." After his conviction, the Department of Justice called it "one of the most brazen and damaging acts of espionage in American history."

On September 13, 2023, Schulte was also convicted of receiving, possessing, and transporting child sexual abuse images. On February 1, 2024, he was sentenced to 40 years in prison for espionage and child pornography.
