The angry deportees narrated their treatment, alleging they were unfairly treated in the European country.

The 103 Nigerians arrived at the Abuja airport on June 28, 2024 onboard the Southwind airlines flight.

One hundred and three Nigerians on Friday arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the nation’s capital. They were part of those deported from the Republic of Turkey.

They arrived at the pilgrims’ wing of the airport at about 6:45 pm on the Southwind Airlines flight with registration number TC-GRB.

Upon their arrival, they were received by multiple agencies of government like the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA), the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) as well as those of the military.

It is unclear whether they committed any offence in Turkey to warrant their deportation.

The angry deportees narrated their treatment, alleging they were unfairly treated in the European country.

According to them, they were detained by the Turkish authorities for over 11 months before being deported.

They therefore called on the Nigeria government to fight for them and reclaim all their valuables.

Part of Turkey is in Europe but most is in Asia. I spent a delightful week in that country, traveled everywhere. People loved seeing Americans, and in Istanbul hardly any women wore veils. I even had some giggles with veiled women in the country, an interesting woman-to-woman exchange

And then they voted Erdogan as president. A dirty rotten Islamist, and the country has gone to hell in a hand basket. I feel sorry for the smart, westernized Turks As for Nigerians, who knows? Part of Nigeria is very Christian, and members of one tribe are brilliant and fast-tracked for immigration. My MD is one of those, best doc ever.

Turkey is a transcontinental country, meaning it spans across two continents: Asia and Europe.

No reason for Africans to be in Europe. Africa is almost twice the size of Russia.
I just read about how Sudan was facing starvation.

Turkey is overwhelmingly in Asia with a little bit in Europe.

While that is absolutely true, it's still considered a transcontinental country, because the top northwestern part of it extends into Europe, abutting Bulgaria & Greece with land borders.

The Bosphorus Strait is a natural strait and an internationally significant waterway located in Istanbul, Turkey. It connects the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara and forms one of the continental boundaries between Asia and Europe. It also divides Turkey by separating Asia minor from Thrace. The Bosphorus Strait is the world’s narrowest strait used for international navigation.

Everything east & south of that strait is in Asia and that tiny portion NW of the strait is in Europe. (To provide a visual as to how overwhelmingly the majority of Turkey is located in Asia, here's a map of turkey. 🙂👍.

It's interesting to see the comparison. Turkey comes in at 37th, while we come in as the 4th largest country behind Russia, Canada, & China according to worldometer, but there seems to be no consensus as different sites state different numbers, but they are relatively close:
