In the year 2000, a local news station, I think it was KRON, had a teaser that there was a local politician who might be president someday. I only looked at the 11:00 news that night because I was kind of curious who they were talking about. It was Gavin Newsom, but this was before he was even Mayor of San Francisco I think he was just on the Board of Supervisors then.

Newsom is a failed governor of a failed state, plus as favored nephew of Pelousy he’s additionally unsalable as a candidate.
All the GOP would have to do is broadcast videos of California streets and pictures of the super-expensive grocery, restaurant, and gasoline prices. Plus interview residents about how their $6 utility bills went up to $306.
And of course, the miles and miles and miles of homeless tents and drug addicts all over the streets.
Newsom is definitely the wrong person in the wrong place for the DNC. But yes, DNC needs to find a candidate they can run without having to prop him up with drugs and prepared scripts.

Maybe short-term, but this won’t be decided until the convention in August, and maybe not even then. Put it this way, if a privileged white male is pushed when there are arguably equally-”qualified” of-color females under consideration, it will split the Dem party apart.
