That is an utter calumny perpetrated by the MSM. I was watching that press conference. The question was so ridiculous, because the US has such a clear cut line of succession, that it caught Al Haig by surprise. He prefaced that statement with the question, "Here at the White House?" He followed immediately with, "I am." He obviously was NOT attempting to take over the US.
